Before you say anything yes those are green links. Originally shared by CERN Last week we showed you how global computing helps CERN store, distribute and analysis around 25 Petabytes (25 million Gigabytes) of data generated per year from the Large Hadron Collider. This week we'll talk more about big data, and answer more of your big questions. Join IT experts from CERN and the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) project - a global collaboration of more than 170 computing centres in 36 countries. This "Hangout with CERN" is broadcast live on Thursday 14 February at 17:00 CET, on CERN's Google+ and YouTube pages, with a recording later available on YouTube. You can post questions in advance in the comments below or on Twitter to @CERN with the hashtag #askCERN . We'll pick the best ones to answer and we may even invite you to participate in the live hangout! Want to watch our previous hangouts? They're all available via: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...

Originally shared by CERN UPDATE: also featuring LHCb Experiment breaking news of a rare decay - http://www.quantumdiaries.org/2012/11/14/huge-impact-from-a-tiny-decay/ Join the third Hangout with CERN on Thursday 15 November at 17:00 CET, broadcast live on CERN's Google+ and YouTube pages. After the excitement of 4th July, when CERN announced the discovery of a Higgs-like boson, this third hangout looks at the latest news of this particle. In the same week that worldwide particle physicists are showcasing their latest results in Japan at the major particle physics conference "HCP2012" we ask: are we any closer to understanding this new boson? Is it the Higgs? We'll look at the latest information and talk to the physicists themselves to find out what's new with the Higgs. You can post your Higgs-related questions in advance, either in the comments below or on Twitter to @CERN with the hashtag #askCERN . We'll pick the best ones to answer and we may even in...
