LINKS ACROSS AMERICA - 2014 - MICHIGAN

LINKS ACROSS AMERICA - 2014 - MICHIGAN Linking War Memorials across the country during Memorial Day Weekend. This year we had a northern route that ran through Michigan. A group of us took on the challenge.  Thursday I went to Monroe MI Vietnam Veteran's Memorial to meet agents Chris Arnett @whitemonster @Naruriel and @therootshell  We discussed the Battle Creek to Monroe MI Route and the possible landing areas for linking to Ohio.  They offered to help protect Monroe during the linking process to keep the portals from being captured or killed. I then left Monroe and drove along Rt 2 in Ohio looking for a military or memorial along the Lake Erie shores to link to when i came upon Camp Perry.  I took the 3 portals in front and jarvis one to make both a green and blue target portal. I then drove further up the coast to Sandusky where the Ohio Veterans Memorial was located. I found out about that memorial when a police officer pulled behind me while i was at the Camp Perry location, i...

Class act agents ! #IngressReport  Originally shared by Anacharsis Scythia Omaha Cross-Faction Memorial Day Star "We stood with heads bowed low. And I thought of fallen comrades I had known so long ago. They came from every city Across this fertile land. That we might live in freedom. They lie here 'neath the sand." - C.W. Johnson "As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain; As the stars are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end they remain." - R.L. Binyon Thank you Kathy Mark shawn edmunds Jushin Lyger  and all players who graciously allowed us to clear links for a Memorial Day tribute. The far right point of the star is anchored at portals for the Marker in Honor of Those Who Served Our Country and the American Legion Post. Well done people, its good to see agents pulling together like this. Originally shared by Snake Plissken Alaska Resistance and EnlightenedAK teamed up to participate in the dual faction operation, Links Across America.  Teams were dispatched in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Ketchikan to clear the path for these two links to make their journey across the tundra, moose, and salmon to Ketchikan, where they await the incoming links from the Pacific Northwest.   This was a great event to show honor to our #Veterans  for #memorialday  Thank you to all who serve, or have served, and to all those who never came home.  I know this isn't much, but let it be known that today a handful of gamers at the top of the world were thinking of you. #linksacrossamerica   #ingress   #ingressalaska   #enlightenedak   #enlightened   #alaskaresistance   #resistance  Ryan Cubillas Mike McCabe Justin Presler Matthew Ames Matthew Sill EF Presler Charlie Presler Newly McCoin Major Skeeter Alexander Harvey Chris ...

The Alaskan Ingress community wanted to participate in the national dual-faction Memorial Day program "Links Across America".  Since we couldn't quite link up to the large links across the "Lower 48" we decided to show our support by making two lines, one blue, one green, from the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage, and then to the Matanuska Valley.  The area is approximately the size of Georgia and South Carolina combined and contains over half of the state's population. We all had a great time and met up for a photo at the World War II Memorial in Anchorage.  There were a lot of folks from around the area that were not able to make it in for the photo, but we couldn't have done it without them. Special thanks for the Enlightened go to Silcas on the peninsula, ArcticWarrioR, and IndigoFalcon in Anchorage, LexTalionis in Eagle River, and ssjaken in the valley. For the Resistance: JETarpon in EagleRiver, and Zoelin in Anchorage.  Also a special thanks to Butter...

I met the nicest couple at the Memorial, Jennifer and Darryl. Jennifer is Curlyjo Annabelle and she is my newest #Ingress recruit! Welcome! They are pictured looking up at the beautiful flowers in the tree at the Memorial...I would have missed noticing those flowers if not for them taking pictures of them. Next stop Indianapolis, IN to meet Pawpawsmurf #ingress #linksacrossamerica
