Well put!

Well put! Originally shared by Jeana “MsDiabla” Steinborn So occasionally I get really excited/passionate about certain subjects. I'm a nerd. It happens. Sometimes though I comment on posts, and those comments end up so TL;DR for a comment, that they just need their own post. For those of you who want to cheat, the TL;DR is at the bottom. I made it easy for you. All bold text. Sportsmanship, mad props, and skills. My opinion on not just some of the #Unight16 posts I've been seeing, but some of the #Unot16 posts about who "won", and who is "the best". Also a little bit of my personal #Unity reflections. As a whole, we tend to take things far too personally with Ingress. I think this is because it isn't just sitting on your computer clicking a mouse, or crushing some candy on your phone. Ingress is dedication, networking, social media, building relationships, and hours upon hours of real life time and money spent traveling to move keys, capture portals,...

#Ingress at its best!

#Ingress   at its best! #ingressreport   Originally shared by Jeana “MsDiabla” Steinborn OPERATION UNITY OFFICIAL REPORT Unity: Kenya TL;DR = Kenya rocks!!! After having done Unity I have thought really hard about a sitrep. Not just for me. But because I asked a friend to let me write this for him. So here it is. Prior to Unity, Agent Cipegwa and I had become good friends. It all started over him showing concern after I posted something about being miserable from allergies. All the way across the world. He wanted to make sure I was feeling OK. His reaching out came at the best time. Because of personal reasons I had removed myself from communities and was seriously contemplating quitting the game. Just that little tiny bit of concern though, was enough to excite me and remind me why I love the Ingress community. Later on down the road the two of us began talking more and more. Most of you have never met Cipegwa. Most of you never will. Some of you however who messaged him Happy Level...

Love the field if not the name,Well done agents.

Love the field if not the name,Well done agents. Originally shared by Christopher Bowman SITREP : OPERATION LIMA BEANS The Power of Combined Arms (a subsidiary of Operation Unity - https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JeanaSteinborn/posts/UADEmRKGSPu ) Bottom line, up front: 9 layer megafield that touched 7 states, 20 cells, and covered 9 major cities. Each layer was between 7.8 and 7.9 million MU, for a total of just under 72 million MU captured by Enlightened agents of the mid-south and midwest regions of the US. All 9 layers were up and lasted through the 1 pm CST/2 pm EST checkpoint.  I served as an adviser to Cincinnati’s Enlightened leadership for their Interitus anomaly earlier this year. It was in this capacity that I had the pleasure of meeting Cat Vinch when she came to Nashville in May to meet with me and Leslie Bowman. During this meeting, she gave me keys to the post office in Lima, Ohio that were to be used for a fielding plan for the anomaly. Sadly, that particular plan never ...

We can always count on the Texas Resistance!

We can always count on the Texas Resistance! Originally shared by Steve Schwaller OP: #Unity   TX Nope Large OPs are hard. When they succeed, they are fantastic. When they fail, it can be really discouraging. UNLESS you are the part of the team that blocked the large OP. You don't normally hear about the OPs that fail. For every OP team there is a counter-OP team on the other side trying to stop them. Congrats to the Texas Resistance for identifying the lanes that were being cleared and organizing the statewide and regional responses to block them. You are a great team to be a part of. #Ingress   #WeWillResist

In the past 22 months, I've flown 30,000 miles, driven 58,000 miles.

Originally shared by Zeke Cao In the past 22 months, I've flown 30,000 miles, driven 58,000 miles. Made about 2100 friends. Twenty or so cities, three countries. I stopped leveling at L6 to make sure members in my community catch up to me, I flew to Belgium to drink beers and play with people there. Sharing my resonator where I could. When people tells me that my Ingress stats suck. I tell them to look me up. Yes, you have some crazy amount of AP. You play alone 90% of the time. All you have to brag about is some numbers in your scanner. Me, I follow your lead Joe Philley  :) The amount of links I make between people, the amount of people I could gather in one room far exceeds the number of MU in my fields.  When I first started playing, I was never really one in the spotlight. Didn't care to be social, center of the party, or anything like that. This game forces me to be around people, to be all that I can, to inspire, to unite, and to spread the good stuff around. It's a ...

OP: #UNITY Southern UK

Image
OP: #UNITY   Southern UK A few fans of green triangles were thrown into a hangout to field London for #Unity   We decided we wanted a bigger field than just London, but wanted the links to cover as much land as possible to involve many local agents rather than a few people, far away, linking over the sea. We wanted agents to say, "that was our field." We all drew up plans and the one that was selected was for 25 Layers and allowed many agents to each get a field. Recruiting was made more difficult by the timing, 4 am checkpoint on the night the clocks go back! Keys were carried across the land and ADA refactors were saved up. The day before, I received word that the Resistance knew of the global op and that we were aiming for a 4 am checkpoint. We decided that our team had already worked too hard to let anyone spoil our fun and continued on in the tenacious and determined way that the Enlightened do.  I'm afraid to say that we did miss the checkpoint by a few minutes t...

Excellent idea.

Excellent idea. Originally shared by Jeana “MsDiabla” Steinborn OPERATION: UNITY I have never been more proud than I am today, of not only being a member of the Enlightened, but of being an Ingress Agent. Unity was an operation designed from the bottom up. Instead of focusing on large fields, with large fielders. Instead of focusing on fielding for anomalies, or artifacts. We decided to focus on our communities. On how we build teams. Getting new agents involved. Making things fun and exciting again. Most importantly though, how we can come up with an amazing idea, and because of Ingress have a chance to share it with the whole world. So. Without further ado... Welcome to Unity. October 24. World Development Information Day. "In recent years many events have interpreted the title of the day slightly differently. These have concentrated on the role that modern information-technologies, such as the Internet and mobile telephones can play in alerting people and finding solutions to p...
