So very true! Originally shared by Sean Anderson Ingress :: making the World a more interesting place Pre-Ingress, I would have taken this architectural gate to be nothing more than than a fancy gate in the gardens of former country house; turned public park ... I asked my friends if they knew anything about it and was told a great story of how the locals consider the gate to be a "wishing gate", screw up a leaf to stuff in one of the many holes, before passing through and making a wish. Difficult to see from my picture, but all of the holes are stuffed with the dried and shrivelled leaves that have accumulated over years of passers by. Set in the ornate grounds of Marsden Park, Lancashire ... the grounds of the house the grounds have wonderful streams, pools stocked with many Koi carp, sealed doors to secret passageways, unusual arches and sculptures and the most strange sundial that I have ever seen. What an amazing place; thank you Ingress I wish that I had more time to g...

Great eye  NIA Ops  "Thanks for this awesome #PortalGem  and great write-up, Agent! This portal is now online in San Diego, CA." "NIA Ops" Originally shared by Erin T (IsThatAPortal) NIA Ops For your consideration, I submit this #PortalGem  . Portal Title: Self Made Man Location: San Diego, CA, USA Coordinates: 32.937794,-117.196323 I found this awesome bronze statue on my quest for Platinum Pioneer this past weekend.  It is an approximately 10' tall statue of a man chiseling his own body from a piece of raw stone, created by Colorado native Bobbie Carlyle.  This piece is located on the grounds of the opulent Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego.  A plaque at the base of the statue reads, "Self Made Man. Dedicated October 5, 2007. To all the self made men and women who created the Grand Del Mar." I feel this piece is especially appropriate for us Agents as we play Ingress - we all start as L1 Agents and grow into L8s, L9s, L10s... all the way up to L16...

FYI on new Portals submissions

FYI on new Portals submissions They are very backed up and doing the best we can to get through it and apologize that it is slower than we would like- we are doing our best to speed it up.  I would  post to the new Portal Appeals community any #PortalGem   they think is so cool it should jump the line.  Also please tell not to resubmit it will just slow us down and do not resubmit Portals that have been taken down.  (OK to share) Thanks #Ingress   #NL1331   #RIPHankJohnson
