Great work agents! Originally shared by Alana Duckett (MrsGliss) Operation ViaDuckett (22/12/2013) While planning the Duckett Christmas road trip from Palmerston North to Auckland, I decided that no road trip would be complete without a little bit of fielding fun.  One of our primary objectives was to cover our local agents, ensuring their minds would be safe from shaper influence in our absence over Christmas.  So after consulting with some fellow RE, a plan was made to field the majority of the North Island. As with all good operations, it was not without its mishaps and roadblocks (including a flock of sheep).  However, with a bit of team effort and dedication to the plan, we were able to successfully complete the operation.   I would like to thank all the agents involved in Sundays fielding effort, and all those that provided keys and other gear.  Also, thank you to all those agents who forfeited their own linking plans in support of this operation. Great work guys! #13Magnus   #OperationNightstalker   #Unight8   Originally shared by Gavin Treadgold (rediguana) Operation Loading Data… aka True Blue New Zealand Background For some time now, plans have been developed to make use of three remote outlying portals in New Zealand, where a single large field would be possible to cover a large percentage of the country. At the same time, the intention was to link across the Tasman Sea to create the first Trans-Tasman fields of significance. In the east, the East Cape Lighthouse was utilised. To the north, Cape Reinga proved too difficult to capture and deploy at this time, due to the effect of terrain and distance on mobile communications. An alternate portal called Kupe’s Landing, in the small township of Taipa, near Kaitaia, was chosen. Back to the south, agents began e...

Great work agents.

Great work agents. Originally shared by Gavin Treadgold (rediguana) A Long Way South A long but fun day out creating P8s, possibly the southern-most yet P8 Ingress portals in the world! Over the past few weeks the New Zealand Resistance in the South Island had been getting close to 8 L8 players. The recent introduction of virii nearly scuttled our plans, but in the end we decided to go ahead and create P8s the 'traditional' way, as it was still going to be a fun day, and it was! In the end we had 9 L8s and one L7 from three cities - Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill. Sunday the 9th of June started early for many, with the Christchurch L8s on the road around 6am. We met at a notable historical geographic location where the 45th parallel south is marked - roughly halfway between the Equator and the South Pole. This appealed to the geogeeks amongst us, and the nearby town of Oamaru made an obvious central meeting point from our different home towns. After taking one of a few ...
