A week or so we went on a little mini-vacation to [REDACTED] to meet up with a fellow Enlightened agent for [REDACTED] purposes. We met in a place where camping was permitted and as we were finishing up a few RVs pulled up. They were tourists from Germany who were traveling across the US and wanted to camp for the night. The campground had a self-serve pay station for the fees but it took cash only and they didn't have any/enough. All told they needed around $60 or so and it was already pretty late at night. I insisted that they let me loan them the money and that it was no problem and that they could pay me back when they had the chance. INGRESS & CHARITY I was helping with a charity golf outing that cost $250 a person to play. Thought, ingress with a team is more fun than this and it costs less and you can socialize just as much as at a golf outing..whats the difference if you're spread out over a golf course vs. over a portal dense area...everyone can get a dinner and a beer afterwards too. It's not as well known as golf so might be harder to attract teams. But it's gaining popularity. Can you imagine a day where executives gather to play Ingress like they do with golf? TO THE NIANTIC STAFF THANK YOU.   The last 12 days were a whirlwind of total immersion into the Ingress world for me. I decided at our Dec 22-Jan2 Christmas break that since I didn’t take a vacation last year and sorely needed one, I would call all friends and family and ask them to consider me “out of town” for Christmas even though I was in town, so I could just immerse myself in the experience and use it as a virtual vacation. Take my mind on a vacation you might say.   Today I got back to work and everyone was swapping vacation stories, and you know what, I had the best and most exciting vacation of any of them and all it cost me was a few tanks of gas. I saw more landmarks, art and culture than any of them all put together.  I got to be on a podcast, make a giant field, have some great meetups, fight some mighty battles, and enjoy all the hubris that went with it.
