Resistance Agent @Pauldo reporting on a coordinated fielding event based in North Dakota to coincide with the fairly local Interitus anomaly during the past weekend. While very few of our local players could make it to the satellite in Sioux Falls, we like to think we contributed in a meaningful way to the global score throughout the period.
Recently Resistance and Enlightened factions have been trading blows in a fielding war over the Fargo Moorhead area, which generally nets around 90K MU based on the position of the anchors. Local agent @swammpdonkey decided to dedicate Saturday to bathing the Red River Valley (and tributary system) in blue and hatched this plan to enlist help from around the valley. Swammpdonkey reached out to me to run intel and spot lines while the call went out quietly early in the week to start collecting the keys, blowing up remote links and arranging the last-minute blocker-breakers and culminated in a large, multi-layer field over the FM metro with a few add-ons around the edge.
In the quiet hours of the morning on the 17th,@swammpdonkey and @Chelebele headed out on a mission, loaded with keys, ammunition, ambition, and quite possibly an unhealthy amount of caffiene, for the small town of Ellendale ND, several hours from home. Keeping all blocking links in place until the moment of attack, the pair decended on the quiet town, blowing up a few long-held targets, while their owners were in Sioux Falls, and finally sending out the call. At 09:30 agents @lyssa07, @queenisis, @ArchangelAnubis, and @StaticRK opened fire on key blocking portals in two separate towns in northern ND, opening the path from Detroit Lakes, MN to the Grand Forks AFB, to set up one side of the main field layers. As soon as the eastern path was open, agent @701 on remote in DL fired up his links to the AFB, providing the first glimpse to what would come.
While the northern strike team traveled to their secondary objectives, the Ellendale pair continued to take out the multiple suspected guardians, en route to their desired anchor. Agent @telecomm was mobilized in Fargo to move to the most visible target to local agents, while the assult continued in the north, taking down a web of links. In total, the towns of Finley, Sharon, Mayville, Portland, and Buxton, along with a remote historical church, would all have to be cleansed before the western link could be thrown. Just before the stroke of 10am the links from West Fargo to Valley city were cleared by @telecomm and @swammpdonkey threw the links out of Ellendale to DL and the GF AFB completing phase 1. Using multiple portals in Detroit Lakes, arranged and cleared by @701, two more layers were added to the main field, each totalling appx 117k MU. Special thanks to @99FRC who stood at attention for a good part of the morning, throwing up local combat chatter to disguise any action, and being ready to quickly squash any retaliatory blocking links.
At this point, the story could end, but it doesn't. In order to block any further western lines that may have been planned, links were thrown from Ellendale to the southwest of Jamestown ND. @swammpdonkey and @Chelebele would later connect this to their next stop, Aberdeen, SD. Using another key to Detroit lakes more fields were added to extend the fielding south. Also the town of Thief River Falls, MN was connected by @StaticRK to cover Grand Forks in soothing blue light, adding another 47K MU. Our travellers to the south then connected Aberdeed to Milbank SD where a large blocking field had been erected. Before returning home, the town of Whapeton, ND was included in the fun, nearly completing the southeastern corner of the state.
Later in the day, I would connect a portal outside of Jamestown to the AFB in the north and the small towns of Streeter and Driscoll in the west, to create two smaller fields.
These fields would all stand until the early hours of the morning on the 18th, covering checkpoints and of importance for the team, all of the measurement cycles for the anomaly.
