    People seem to get so wound up over these memorials. IIRC, many freaked out over the Vietnam War memorial at the time it opened; now it's universally praised.

    The Park Service would have had to borrow development funds from China anyway!!
    But, yes, this is a major precedent!! China is on the Washington Mall...in granite!!!
