ReplyDeleteSo far I've only seen one new portal open up near me with today's release. Either I'm not looking hard enough or I need to submit more portals.
ReplyDeleteMaybe tomorrow ill just get on my bike and see what I can find around town. I already have some ideas.

ReplyDeleteive found at least 5 in my area. thats another 5 on top of the 3 from the last time. thats not bad for such a little area. no telling how many downtown, prob several.
ReplyDeleteI found about 5 in my town. But as soon as i go turn um up. They are downed by the other faction. Almost all of the +-200 portals are owned by the other faction.

ReplyDeleteThe most famous landmark in the area, submitted by everyone in the area from both factions currently playing all with the same name still hasnt been used yet.
A question for Joe Philley shall we resubmit places again, are they done by date? by place? by number of submissions from players? All submissions from 1 player considered (judged) at the same time?

ReplyDeleteIt's too bad the bogus portals (or ones with no names and no images) around my area haven't been removed yet. I'm sure a few people have reported them. It's an unfortunate messa that people don't follow naming guidelines and they aren't being corrected at Niantic. They really need some local (even country-level) presence to do that. We've got portals in several languages, dupes and totally bogus ones of snow animals etc. around Helsinki.

ReplyDeleteNuremberg needs way more portals. We have fewer than Bamberg, with five times the population.
There's many many dupicate and incorrect portals in my area, also in the newly submitted ones. Reported many, no response. They should pay more attention to this

ReplyDeleteJoe not sure if your asking for how to even up areas where one side dominates but I wondered if it would help if you left it that hacking enemy portals still gave less on average then hacking your team's portals but made it that you could hack them twice every 5 minutes?
ReplyDeleteAlso haven't worked fully through it but wondered if there wasn't a weapon that could only be used by low levelled players that dud great damage to portals/resonators? Maybe like a bomb that did massive damage but stopped the player getting any xm for say 5/10 minutes.
Just some thoughts. Maybe silly.

ReplyDeleteA second appeared right near my house - already taken by the resistance - we went out in the dark and cold to the edge of a cliff to claim 4 portals for the enlightened - what more do I need to do to earn invites to give to my friends to defend them - more support needed!

ReplyDeleteI use one device routing using Google Maps and Google+ for news. The other device is my scanner full time, only one has a sim card so I tether them to use the same data connection. No new portals near me.. Maybe soon.

ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does 5000 portals sound like a drop in the bucket? Dont get me wrong, I am patiently waiting for my 25 submissions.
ReplyDeleteEarth landsurface area is 149 million km². 90% of the people live on 10% of the land so 14,9 million km² is inhabitated. So if you have a portal every 10km² (Thats a square with 10km sides) you still need 1.49 million portals (geustimate). Joe Philley Is it known how many portals are live allready?

ReplyDeleteBoise is stacking up new portals downtown. I wish I could think of more places to submit in the surrounding areas besides libraries and fire stations. I live downtown so it's great for me, but probably a little frustrating for those who live out in the burbs. I'm very excited to see what these "Sensitives" are all about though!
