OPERATION BANDAID
goal: put up two fields to cover Michigans thumb with a bandaid like field.

So Hubert Farlowe is this field big enough? It is 158 miles around it, took 12 hours to complete since no agents in area to help us, and longest link is 86k and covers 1224 sq miles! 42,225 MU

We started this morning at 9:30am making our way north to our rendevous point in Davidson, Mi. There were four of in two vehicles. Myself, +Martin Newsome +Steve Martin and Zack.  We met at Tim Hortons, checked our maps and then headed out to the first corner of our field, Vassar, Mi.

Steve and Zack were L1 they deployed resonators and linked fields. Martin is an L6 and I am an L7 so we upgraded the portals and put on shields.

On the way, in Millington, Mi we made our first mistake. We couldn't resist taking down two enlightenment portals, not realizing how close we were to Vassar, Michigan.  After setting up Vassar and getting the portal keys we needed, CruiseControl came on the COMM and said he'd be going after the Millington portals we set up. We worried he had seen our activity in Vassar and might kill one of the critical corners of our field. Then we setup the first portal but burned it out without getting a key, we walked to the next portal, same thing, we've now been out in the cold 19 degreeF weather for almost an hour I took a pic of one frozen Martin.  Finally on the third hack of the last portal we got the keys we needed..on to stop two.

The 2nd stop was an hour and half away, Port Sanilac Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron. It was so beautiful seeing the half frozen Great Lake.  We went down to the beach and took some pics. The portals there we got the keys we needed a little quicker, and when done were starving so stopped for lunch. You can see us cheering success after making the first link of the day.

The 3rd stop was 45 minute drive up the coast of Lake Huron, to Harbor Beach Michigan. That was a quick stop to set up the portal And got the keys quickly thank goodness as getting keys was our biggest challenge. I got some beautiful pics along Lake Huron and will add them to this post. We connected links to Vassar and down to Port Sanilac making the first of two giant fields.

Finally we got to our forth corner, Sebewaing, Michigan it was an odd town, at 7pm it was totally abandoned, a ghost town. Very eery.  We got keys and linked it to Harbor Beach and were so excited the next link to Vassar would complete our project....but wait...who has the third Vassar key?  Oh no, second big mistake of the day we miscounted and only had two keys which were already used. we checked the GPS and Vassar was 50 minutes away..victory would have to wait. Luckily Vassar was on the way home.

As we drove towards Vassar, I got a dreaded message from my enlightenment enemies..."so Linda you having a chicken dinner while up near Frankenmuth Mi?" I begged them not to touch it for 24 hours, offering bribes of invites, XMP and resonators...luckily they had no plans to quash our attempt, as far as I could tell.  We were now 10 hours into this project. So here is the result a giant field covering the thumb of Michigan, all done in the snow and subfreezing temperatures.
