LOCATION: The Republic of San Marino
SUBJECT: Operation San Marino: An L8 NATION
A group of resistance agents managed to capture and upgrade to L8 all 50 portals located in the Republic of San Marino, making it the first ALL L8 NATION in the World of Ingress.
Agents involved in the field were:
Davide Bugli (aka Nemesi - L8 - Resistenza Rimini)
Gabriele Caselli (aka Tollgates - L8 - Resistenza Rimini)
Piero Biagini (aka Piero93 - L8 - Resistenza Rimini)
Stefano Di Concetto (aka ViperSte - L8 - Resistenza Rimini)
Fabio Colinelli (aka ziopixel - L8 - Resistenza Cesenatico)
Manuel Mei (aka Digitalboy86 - L8 - Resistenza Riccione)
Andrea de Rose (aka AndrewmcRoses - L8 - Resistenza Cesenatico)
Leo Casanova (aka leocasanova - L8 - Resistenza San Marino)
Nicola Ragno (aka Spidernr - L8 - Resistenza Bologna)
Emanuele Leuzzi (aka TeRmInEt - L6 - Resistenza San Marino)
Matteo Battistini (aka diemind - L7 - Resistenza Rimini)
The group met a 2 p.m. at the Customs Office at the border between Italy and the Republic of San Marino. A month of planning was needed to ensure tethering and wi-fi hotspots for all agents since most Italian telephone carriers don't work in San Marino.
In arguably the hottest day in months, the Agents took 6 hours to capture and upgrade all portals to L8. Driven by the guidance of Leo Casanova the first L8 agent ever in San Marino, Emanuele Leuzzi another San Marino agent , and Davide Bugli an Italian who liver a few miles away from the National border, they managed to overcome hard challenges such as steepy roads (San Marino in on the mountains, and has three towers on three different peaks) and portals in the middle of the woods.
Finally the group came back to the Customs Office celebrating the event and aware to have set an unprecedented record in the history of Ingress.
Special thanks go to:
Francesco Cecchi ishter86 who was the crazy guy who had the idea, even if he couldn't take part in the actual event.
Leo Casanova and Emanuele Leuzzi for their guidance, logistic support and planning activities.
