Ingress players, you certainly have noticed the Cross-Faction Meetup organized by the Niantic Project at L’ArtCafé in #Paris the 30th of July. Let me tell you why this place and date were chosen !

Every Tuesday night in Paris we have a cross-faction meetup we call “The Truce” at L’ArtCafé , a bar near Place de la Bastille. This “Truce” has a long story, and is part of our Ingress Mythology here in Paris.
It all began a Tuesday this winter, when Enlightened Agent Sarwydor said in the COMM that he was going to the bar. xorilog , a Resistance Agent at this time (but now known as Enlightened Agent copain ) , was watching the Intel Map in case of an event and saw Sarwydor’s message and decided to join him. They organized everything over the COMM and Enlightened Agent sehdatcha , just coming home from work, saw the conversation and joined them. They all met a few minutes later in front of the beautiful Opéra Garnier and decided to find a bar, which they found quite rapidly : the Olivier Murphy’s House was the perfect place because of its cellar known for blocking cell phone signals. They happily discussed and drunk all the evening, talking about everything except #Ingress . They then left to catch the last subway, agreeing to meet the next week at the same place.
They asked more players to come, the “Truce” started to be well known amongst players in Paris, and each week more players from both factions came. Soon enough, there was so much players coming that they had problems to find a bar with enough room and at this time, Enlightened Agent Ihou proposed L’ArtCafé, a bar where she knew the bartender well and where they could book a large enough room. Since then, “The Truce” is at L’ArtCafé every Tuesday night . The bartender, who is now a friend of us, is so used to see Ingress Agents in his bar that when you buy a drink he ask you what is your faction and change the color of the bar using blue and green neons !

Each week there is ten to twenty (or more) Ingress players coming and they will be happy to see you there and drink beer, shots and cocktails with you ! Also, the 30th of July, Niantic Lab’s Agent Mathieu de Fayet will be there !
