Hey Joe Philley - any news you can share with us regards the suspected XM draining botting that is going on in London at the moment? It has been like this for around a week now and it's making playing on the move pretty much impossible unless you're willing to stand around and pick up the XM in the 30 second window between it spawning and being collected by a bot.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know we've not heard anything from you guys about it and I think everyone would appreciate an update, even if it's just 'we're aware and are working on it'
Ta :)
We are working on the problem
ReplyDeleteThanks - that's great to hear - good luck :)
ReplyDeleteJoe Philley I am working on the problem of how to become emperor of earth. Little to no success here so far. My ETA is at least 300 years.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing with the bot problem?
Joe Philley Great news. We're calling a general strike in London on Wednesday 24.07.2013 .. at least the L8s from both sides will mostly be on board. This has been posted to other European countries as well, so far the uptake has been positive. Maybe the reduction in legitimate player activity will assist in identifying the #Snufflebot users (<- the 'L' is silent)
ReplyDeleteTo all concerned, I'm not being sarcastic.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY do want to be the Emperor of Earth.
Joe Philley I'm sure I'm not alone when I thank you for the brief, yet concise answer to Chris' question.
ReplyDeleteI am however, like everyone else affected by the current situation, puzzled and bemused why there have been no 'official' statements from Niantic Project nor why seemingly nothing has been done at all so far.
Although I do not condone the action of this user/users, I wholeheartedly agree with the underlying principal. Before introducing game-changing objects/items/rules/etc, please fix the current issues first.
My personal bugbear is random crashing whilst scrolling through keys, and the two minute startup afterwards.
These scoresheets are really nice. It's something quantifiable to strive for.
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome if a computer could collect them automatically, either for bounded/hosted mini games like this one, or perhaps all the time.
