Operation Save Anne
On the 24th of September there was a cross faction meetup in Lisboa https://plus.google.com/103320655754019011706/posts/83Y59hqJrxm . An important member of the Resistance was to attend this event: Anne Beuttenmüller. Our informers told us that the Enlightened were organizing themselves to try and change her alignment. We've seen it before with Klue S. and we couldn't allow it to happen again. This time, Resistance agents from all over the country organized themselves to prevent the Enlightened from executing their plan and and get agent Anne out of the country safely.
There were no doubts about the Enlightened's intentions. Their movements in the days before the meeting and the information In our power led us to believe that something was about to happen. On the 23th we started to destroy some links in the Lisboa and Alentejo area, but we knew that we were outnumbered in those regions.
We tried to warn Anne that she was heading for a trap, but the Enlightened managed to cut off our means of communication. We tried to send a group of agents to meet her at the airport, but they were promptly eliminated by the Enlightened who took their place and escorted Anne downtown where they knew they were the majority. We had but one solution: let our enemy think they had won, and then react when they least expected it. And so it was...
Resistance agents waited for the right moment to strike... At the very end of the meeting Resistance agents managed to talk to agent Anne without the Enlightened noticing. They alerted agent Anne of the danger she was in and informed her of the plan for her extraction from the country when the time was right.
With all the Enlightened links and control fields that prevented our plan previously destroyed during the preparation of the operation and the approach of the ending of the meetup, the Resistance's attack was fast and effective. We managed to create the necessary control fields and provide a secure way out of the country for agent Anne.
With the control fields raised by the Resistance, we had multiple options to extract Agent Anne:
- we could take her straight to the airport in Lisboa;
- we could move her by sea to Porto, another Portuguese city which is mostly controlled by the Resistance and also has an Internacional Airport;
- we could take her by ship to Açores, also controlled mostly by the Resistance, and from there arrange for safe transportation to America.
With all these options and without the evil influence of the Shapers, the Enlightened had no power to respond and Agent Anne was able to escape unharmed from this country, that still isn't safe.
