Is there going to be a crack down on IITC? Also, any updates on a release date for the previously suggested API's for some legal community tools to be built?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you guys are spending time threatening your players instead of working with them to improve Ingress.
ReplyDeletePete Royston Not sure that is right! My mother had a saying "locks only keep the honest people out" and there are plenty of folks that have the skills to break into the game and do things that none of us would feel are right. I am sure there would be aspects of some of the things that peeps have hacked that Niantic would have no issue with, there are some on the edge and then there are some that just are wrong. I would imagine it is hard to blanket ban the bad without technically banning the good/okay. I think the actions on the bans can tell you part of their opinion but if asked, I'm guessing that have to answer in a way that meets exactly what the policy says.
ReplyDeleteIt also should be noted that even seemingly good tools (like IITC) can cause pressure on the infrastructure and therefor are undesirable.
Lastly, its fair to think that the Niantic guys and girls want to give everyone exactly what they want within the limits of making a fun challenging game! They don't make they statements to be the Grinch that stole Christmas but to keep the game going in the direction it needs too! I think we should trust there judgement. Question, yes, but trust yes!

Phillip Malone Your not sure it is right? You feel ingress should threaten its players? You feel they should not work with them to make the game better?
ReplyDeleteIf the ingress intel map was useful most people would not use IITC. I have not used broot myself but the only thing I have heard people rave about is the inventory count... which people have been asking about forever. I've been playing since December, and from what I have seen Ingress it not responsive to its users.
I dunno what you guys were told but not all publicity is good.
ReplyDeletePete Royston I'd say you have firm ground to stand on when you ask for your money back.
ReplyDeleteInstead of this why not find a way to stop spoofers or multi accounts? Cheating is a bigger problem for your players. Some players have multiple accounts from both factions. We are tired of this not iitc... Fix cheating than tell us to stop using extra aids...
ReplyDeleteRoss Diaz hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha (deep breathe) hahahahahahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteEddie Eddy They aren't mutually exclusive! Why don't they just do both like they currently are? These guys aren't idiots and neither are the cheaters! The trick is weeding out the cheaters and not legit players that may look like they cheated!
