Great team work.

Great team work.

Shard #2 at the Azores? Where in the hell is this archipelago located?

After Germany, Britain, Netherlands, France and Spain, Portuguese Resistance got into the action!
Shard #2 was the mission, creativity was the essence.

After a GREAT GREAT work from the previous countries, synchronization was the key word between France, Spain and Portugal.

The strategy was to use keys exchanged with the Spanish Resistance in previous missions and get the creativity shard into the Azores, in St Michaels Island, and from there bounce it to one of the latent portals that Azorean Resistance had submitted for a long time, prepared and farmed for a “day of need”, either in Corvo island or Flores island. The presence of Shard #2 was the perfect occasion to use it.

The seven international Resistance “shard agents” hangout virtual HQ was a must have tool for agents coordination (some at the same time on the ground) of all the agents/team leaders were involved on local operations, cleaning and also backup portals to be Resistance aligned or activated on the go, if extra jumps were needed.

But the frogs were playing in St Michaels island, also in Terceira island… DAMN… 1 am… 2 am, go to sleep frogs!…

We need a decoy: “Lajes Airport” portal, on Terceira island, was be the bait!

Spanish agents with keys from “Lajes Airport” and “António Alves de Oliveira” started the operation planning the link to Lajes as bait and also making all the arrangements needed to fake that plan as the real deal. Thumbs up for you guys, perfect!
Reading the Azorean COMM (in Portuguese) is a “must have” to understand how the mainland Portuguese Resistance assisted on the Terceira island bait plan to work perfectly. No frogs on sight at the northeast of St Michael island.

St Michaels island was an in-between jump stage at the most far away portal in the island, “António Alves de Oliveira” to the Shard's temporary destination .

One hour driving was needed from Ponta Delgada city to the portal. We were ready!

Two jumps to go… everyone was excited!

We have a go? YES?

First phase, link done - Shard #2 jumped from Spain, WELCOME TO THE AZORES! Now it’s under Portuguese Resistance responsibility.

Countdown started. It’s now ETA (to Corvo island) minus 59 min … 58 min … 57 min… for next jump...

It’s now ETA minus 56 min … 55 min … 54 min…

Great support online, on hangout, from local agents on other strategic locations of the island, for backup bouncing and/or defensive linking or destruction, if needed.

It’s now ETA minus 53 min … 52 min … 51 min…

Resistance agents from mainland Oporto kept us warm with their online support while also securing another P8 ready to be used if a bounce back and forward was needed.

Lisbon backup team was deactivated due to heavy frog activity. Security is always the best option.

It’s now ETA minus 40 min … 39 min … 38 min…

Some pictures taken, portable internet Wi-Fi hotspot check, internet 4g check.

It’s now ETA minus 17 min … 16 min … 15 min…

Four hacks done on the portal with the Shard #2 and no very rare link amps…

It’s now ETA minus 10 min … 09 min … 08 min…

Time to link to Corvo Island, “link established” and … what did happen? Shaper messing with agent’s scanner ? Link vanish...

It’s now ETA minus 07 min …

Again, “link established”, the link to the Shard's final destination vanished; damn frogs, messing with scanner or Wi-Fi portable internet hotspot!

It’s now ETA minus 06 min …

Mobile rebooted, scanner online, 4g internet connection selected.

It’s now ETA minus 05 min …

Again, “link established”, the link to the Shard's final destination vanished; the 4g connection is also sabotaged?!

It’s now ETA minus 04 min …

Mobile rebooted again, scanner online, 4g internet connection selected…

It’s now ETA minus 03 min …

Once more, “link established”, and YES… Link established and still stable.

Waiting… Waiting …

It’s now ETA minus 01 min …

Shard #2 jumped!

Shard #2 is safe in Corvo Island at “Corvo windmill” portal.

Now, it's time to rest and sleep.

RRR - RESISTANCE, RISE and RESIST!

Note to Niantic:

For the fair play of the game please read some observations to take under consideration about this shard #2 “pause” at Corvo island.

Corvo island has almost 500 inhabitants. They are served by one small airport with regular flights.
Also we have one resistance agent resident on the island (great work bluesecretagent), that kept this portal dormant as decided by all the Azorean Resistance team. He is levelling up slowly but firmly when out of the island.
(Next round in St Michaels is on us, drinks included!)

So, to be clear, this shard is NOT imprisoned.

Without giving any specific details on the next stages, the objective is, of course, to get this shard to the Resistance's “home portal” in South America.

We still have 227.000 free air miles to get free tickets when and if we need our agents in the island. We also have two agents that work on the Azorean airline.

Keys were farmed with the portal still not aligned and were passed to several locations so, another possibility, is a link to the Shard's portal so it can get out (instead of making a link from the portal).

So, again, the shard is NOT imprisoned, we can link out when we want and other/further stage agents can fetch it by linking in when wanted also. But everything on Resistance time.

Spoofers, be aware that we are not going to tolerate any attack. Enlightened and Resistance agents are WELCOME to come to the island to play fair and square and yes, in a 500 people island we know who you are and when you arrive / leave. (Plane tickets can be bought on www.sata.pt  )

Also creating a multi account tactic to use a resistance account to fetch the shard linking from other portals to Corvo Island is an improbable move (because you wouldn't have keys obtained in a fair way) so, again, fair play please.

Attached to this report you find images (agent on site, local online newspaper on nexus 7, scanner image, COMM, prints, etc) and also this video http://youtu.be/slJlEOH1RpE to the stressing “link vanishing” issue.

Finally, about this mission title, don’t you know were the Azores are located? No problem, “google it” or, better yet, look for shard #2 on the scanner or in your intel map. We are friendly and warm people, visit us and we can have fun together while visiting Azores trough the Ingress reality.

  1. Excellent. Shard 'Creativity' spent few days in the care of Resistance friends just 70 miles north of me and I was very excited watching the efforts to defend and manage it, hoping it didn't come to my home town because that would be such an enormous responsibility :-)
