#EliteV out of millions?
#EliteV out of millions?
Perhaps the question is how we became millions from a few.
Community.
Nominating the Central Illinois Ingress community was not an option; and that's a shame because within our community (as I'm sure throughout the world) it takes several agents with their own special gifts to make this game what it is.
The: welcomers, teachers, planners, the field generals, field makers, field anchors, farm keepers, the builders, agents who share by making drops or driving to deliver, the boots on the ground, the demolition crew, the key mules, the peacemakers, the social event planners and bridge builders.
An Elite agent will have most if not all of the above skills to offer his team and/or community. We here in Central Illinois are lucky to have several who do.
World wide impact. Does this mean traveling the globe? Hardly. We have portals to get around in. We also have anomalies that impact the world Ingress Community, such as #13MAGNUS Anomalies, of which several from our area have participated.
World wide impact and possessing the qualities listed above....
and how we grew from few to millions...how to choose?
The obvious answer is to go back to the beginning.
Hank Johnson
Agent Tesla128 answered the call to come help him at the very first anomaly in Cahokia. What transpired there not only had a global impact on the game, Agent Tesla brought back a new, "bigger picture" outlook, knowledge and passion for the game which was shared with the community by example.
Unfortunately, there's no AP for leading by example.
There are no points for: Delivering supplies to a one horse town or ten, in the middle of the night, from a farm that is not even close to you. There are no points for driving hundreds of miles to help build those farms, nor points for driving people around for AP or to anomalies to share the fun that is this game. . There are no points for welcoming, teaching, leading or making frenenemies; and there is no peacemaker nor voice of reason badge for when things get heated. There may be no physical prizes for creating inter and cross faction events and communities; but we have won here in central Illinois. We have Aaron Coakley
Since we are unable to melt several agents from Central Illinois into one; I humbly request that Senior Enlightened Agent Tesla128 be considered as our representative. He has been there since the beginning and possesses the qualities the #EliteV is seeking and then some. .
He is Central Illinois Ingress.
+AaronCoakley is not just my former arch nemesis (who terrorized my three small town portals during blizzards...and taught me the meaning of "We can have salsa and chips afterwards") oddly enough he is also a former teammate (Who fought alongside me at #Minotaur and #Cassandra ), he is also my constant: teacher, example and friend.

One thing I would like to see more of for 2014 from both teams is community involvement. There are so many non profit organizations that need our hands-on help weither its clean-ups, maintenance and upkeep of our parks and other play area or even providing services to your less fortunate members of our societies. Every group can find a worthy cause to contribute to as a whole.
