Operation "Eastern"
November 24, after a week of meticulous plannig, ‘Team 9’, Enlightened expeditionary paratroops force dispatched from Moscow took off and headed towards Israel to seize control of the two shards remained there. This marked the beginning of operation ‘Eastern’, the most daring effort executed during the shards hunt by date.
On arrival at 2355 local time, Team 9 was met by local Enlightened and rushed towards shard #12 located at Merom Golan. After 4 hours drive agents arrived at the portal and reported to Moscow coordination centre. In 5 minutes they deployed a portal to throw the shard 1520 kms to Baku.
Same time Baku team was alerted and received the shard at 0700 local time transporting it to safety and guarding for 11 hours while Novosibirsk was readying the next part of transfer. Immediately after Team 9 received confirmation of shard arrival they began their 22-hours quest to capture shard #5 as well.
At Eilat Team 9 was outmaneuvered by local Resistance player who transferred the shard 200 kms away assuming it will be safe there. Nevertheless, Team 9 headed towards it without delay.
Meanwhile Novosibirsk and Baku teams were coordinated to throw shard #12 through distant city of Kumertau. After 2 hours of nervous waiting (Novosibirsk was waiting for 6 hours due to timezone difference) Siberia confirmed shard arrival. Then shard#12 was transferred to the small town near Irkutsk where local Enlightened team pushed it to Olkhon island on Baikal lake.
In Israel Team 9 and local Enlightened fought their way for the shard #5 and ultimately suppressed local Resistance capturing the shard. However the links to Baku - where the receiving party was alerted for the night - disappeared for some unknown reason. Second attempt to send shard #5 to Russia was also hampered by technical difficulties.
As a result shard #12 travelled over 7000 kms in a day from Middle East to Far East. 5 Enlightened teams in different cities and timezones worked together in a perfect coherence. Team 9 drove over 1400 kms and 30 hours non-stop passing Israel from North to South and back 2 times and was finally met by local Resistance in Tel-Aviv where during cross-faction meeting they expressed their admiration about decisive and professional actions of the adversaries.
