Operation #BlueOasis
This is a Story about teamwork , cooperation between 2 teams from 2 different countries ( UK & Egypt ) how ingress got us together a story of 2 months of planning and preparation and how a birthday present turned into a massive ingress operation with total 161,715,431 MU , we will write this sitrep from each team experience and respective
Egyptian Team :
When we first got contacted by Mark Longhurst @badsamuk in December and got his itinerary with some interesting places to visit we didn't thought of a better welcome to Egypt gift than one of our famous mega epic fields so the plan was set and keys needed to be ready we had to set up a team meeting from around the country to trade keys give out tasks .
the first challenge was to send an agent on 520 KM round trip to power up an anchor and bring back keys then another 440 KM trip to deliver the keys to the British team in Cairo
the second was uniting teamwork cause the 2 teams never operated together and each had their own way of communicating and operation which turned out with 3 teams work in 3 different cities in the same time and every action had to be done in 1 minute window or the whole operation would be compromised
in the end we turned most of Egypt population Blue , we left our guests with one hell of ingress experience and some HUGE MUs that goes beyond their small visit :)
British Team :
A surprise trip to Egypt was planned for February 2014 as part of Marianne Brown 's (aka @malbrown24) 40th Birthday (23rd September 2014) present from Mark (aka @badsamuk), which comprises of a treasure hunt that will take them both to various countries around the world between September 2013 to September 2014.
Mark first made contact with Soliman Abdallah (aka @NeoEGY) and abdullah dabbous (aka @bady) in December 2013. Initially Mark asked for advice and assistant for the trip but this soon turned in to discussions about a Resistance Op that the Egyptian team had been planning for months and how Mark and Marianne could take part.+
On 4th February Emil Michaiel Agent @Gemz completed a 520km round trip from Alexandria to Mersa Matruh to power up the "The Mosaic Boat" portal.
Arriving in Cairo on 13th February 2014, Marianne and Mark spent a couple of days relaxing and sightseeing, taking in the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, along with the Cairo Egyptian Museum; all the while capturing neutral and Enlightened portals.
Marianne and Mark were picked up from their hotel in Giza by Abdullah and Soliman on Sunday 17th February 2014; for a trip in to the heart of Cairo to see the 'real' side of Egyptian life. During the day they were joined by other members of the Egyptian Resistance Team, (Emil Michaiel Ali Abdelshahid mido mounir Asser ElGindy Mahmoud Makram ), together the team enjoyed a fantastic Egyptian meal at the Koshery, followed by a trip in to the market place and a Shisha bar where they enjoyed a drink, music and local life.
Portal keys were given to Marianne and Mark ready for their trip to Luxor on Tuesday 18th February 2014, and after a further meal with the team at (ElPrince) everyone parted company.
On Monday 17th February Mark and Marianne departed Cairo and headed to Luxor for a cruise down the Nile, which would also see them visit the Karnak and Luxor temples, key to the Operation.
With Operation Blue Oasis planned for Tuesday 18th February the itinerary of the cruise was crucial, so when Mark and Marianne boarded their cruise ship to be told the itinerary had changed; they entered into negotiations with the cruise staff and guides to arrange a private tour around the Karnak and Luxor temples. After numerous discussions it was agreed, a private tour of the temples was sorted.
Mohammed Metwally (aka @metwally) worked on an ideal list of Karnak Temple portals that were key for the 5 large fields, this was passed to the team ready for the Op.
Tuesday 18th February, 0600hrs (EET) An early start for Mark and Marianne and after a brief breakfast the guide and driver took them to Karnak Temple.
The Cairo team were waiting to remove an Enlightened blocker which linked to Suez. This had to be removed first as it was crucial for the Operation to be successful and was planned for 0900hrs (EET), with the first link from Karnak temple to New Two Towers Mosque, Damietta; to be thrown immediately after.
0900hrs, the Cairo team were in place, the Damietta team were in place as were the British team in Luxor.
BANG.....the Enlightened portal and Suez link in Cairo destroyed by @bady,@NeoEGY and @mido7422....immediately followed by the British team establishing the Luxor to the 'New Two Towers Mosque, Damietta "and "The Mosaic Boat, Mersa Matruh" links - this was swiftly followed by the final link being created by Agents @m7md and @ZaBaDo0o between "Two Towers Mosque" and "The Mosaic Boat" resulting in the first field, measuring 32Mil MU
Having then captured 4 other Karnak Temple portals, the British team created a further fields, the largest measuring 32,346,130 MU with the longest link of 820km - a total of 5 layers. Operation Blue Oasis was a success.
A number of the Egyptian Enlightened sent congratulations for the Resistance's "great teamwork"
