Happy International Women's Day!
On March 8th, many resistance women and men around the globe celebrated International Women's Day by building all-female portals, big fields, and field-art. Search #ResLadiesRaid to see an overview of local events.

The theme of International Women's Day this year is "Inspiring Change", and their website says:
"Women's equality has made positive gains but the world is still unequal. International Women's Day celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women while focusing world attention on areas requiring further action...The vast array of communication channels, supportive spokespeople, equality research, campaigns and corporate responsibility initiatives means everyone can be an advocate inspiring change for women's advancement."
We have a unique communication channel as ingress players, and we jumped at the chance to raise awareness of the day. We know that in London we play as the equals of our male team members, however there are countries where it would be impossible for a woman to play ingress at all.

A route was organised in London which passed 10 portals with particular significance for women. 9 L8 women, and 4 men, plus 2 leveling players had a relaxing stroll in the sun, creating a total of 57 L8 portals, many L7 portals and lots of fields. A series of fields were created over the Houses of Parliament to highlight the continuing gender imbalance among MPs.
Many thanks to all involved, especially since 5 players had also rolled 8s the previous evening in central London for another event.

The London ladies did really well Joe Philley, to build so many p8's in such a heavily contested area.
