We Are Resistants.
We simply need a glimpse, a word, a chat to build an operation. This time too.
AD2076, the big-hearted restistant, respected even by opponents, meets with EasyTrigger and discover he is from Sulmona, after a few seconds to review the geography and focus where Sulmona is placed along our country they discuss a possible field, the goal is always one, always the same, very trivial but always full of symbolic meaning: a field over the eternal city: Rome. He began studying the vertices and a portal appears, unknown until then, always hidden in the shadows, in a hard to reach area of Sicily. The name of Capo Zafferano comes out, a portal conquered some time ago by the spouses MarcoDuff and AmDuff.
January, the 28th, at 04:48pm, AD2076 decided to contact MarcoDuff. The first sentence is "I have a little project on my mind... A couple of keys of Capo Zafferano could be very useful. Have you got them?", The second sentence is "The idea is to cover Rome of course." The answer comes fast, and after a brief explanation by AD2076 at 4:52pm MarcoDuff answer is as follows, "Okay, let me have a Sulmona’s portal key… the line is free, I can link from Cosenza and cover Naples as well".
Four minutes. It takes four minutes to understand that an operation can become epic. It only takes four minutes to decide the fate of the movements and the nights in the coming weeks. It takes only four minutes to realize that "Yes, we are still here, we always have been here."
February, the 1st, at 04:03pm, AD2076 says for the first time a sentence. The Sentence. That slogan unknown to many will soon become a catchphrase that will be proudly printed on the Resistance’s sweatshirts near the Key, which will be nominated each time to indicate the supremacy, the power, the demonstration of the impossible that becomes possibile. AD2076 coined the phrase "Operation Maxibon : du field is megl che uan" (two fields are better than one) .
Two. Yes, only two. There are links of 500 km in those fields, but the real problem is a short but tough link of only 180 km. Joining Tarquinia with Sulmona means having active agents ready to dig a passage between friend’s and enemies’ links, a tangled web, hard to cut. But just whispering that we want to cover the Capital City, volunteers flock.
A breath. A memory. No. We must be wrong. Too many times we were told that we can only do fish unit, too many times we were told that we can not, we are disorganized, that the Resistance is not up to par. Too pebbles in the shoe, feet hurt. This is the time. The time for redemption, at this very moment the Resistants have to listen to their hearts, go out and fight. One after the other new vertices are added and one by one fields consists.
Twenty-eight. Twenty-eight vertices for one of the most complex projects ever designed. Twenty-eight. Twenty-eight vertices because it is better than the usual three vertices of a fish unit. Everyone can’t wait to be part of the project, wants to participate, wants to say " I was there", and let us Resistants say so.
The link Tarquinia Sulmona, proud to be a short but complex one, fades at the sight of a link that has come to life. A monster more than 800km long, crossing five regions, long enough to leave Italy and land to Greece. This monster doesn’t need agents, it need heroes armed with willpower and a great, great dose of pure and authentic luck!
Heroes, this project has more than one. The one who declares, at 11:25 of day 25, he’ll hit the road for almost 1000km to capture a single enemy portal, those who knew they’ll have to get up at dawn to destroy enemy fields, those who simply have exchanged a key, those who knew they’ll have to spend the day at pc to drive the teams for those links , those who for a day ignored their family for a "higher purpose" hiding along the shelves of a mall far from angry wives, those who drove the car despite the landslide, those who in spite of illness can not say no to the resistance, those who just to be part of the team will walk miles to nowhere, those who will skip lunch because there is no time to eat and the operation can start at any time, those who hear that during the operation there is a problem and does not hesitate to go 100km far from their spot, those who says goodbye to a fucking guardian because the real achievement are not from Ingress but the ones that issues from these operations, from these collaborations, these Resistance. From these Resistants .
A smile, a grin, the challenge. Yes, you knew everything. Many asked to postpone or give up. No. No. NO. Better. If they know it’s better, because the pebble of organization will make it a more tasty victory, far more succulent. The Resistance does not postpone. All is confirmed, nothing will stop us, you won’t stop us.
March, the 1st. The “Maxibon” day. We know we must skip three vertices. The #13Magnus still hurts, they throw obstruction links. The fear rises, the tension mounts, mood drops slightly, out of the window the weather is dark. But we wear our uniforms. Let's get out. We fight.
The emotions and the feelings along the hours of that day are impossible to describe. Impossible because you have to live it yourself, you must be part of it, you have to feel them on your skin. No written word can describe the emotion of the icy silence between the destruction of the last obstrucion link, our first link and the voice of an operator on Zello wich says "link confirmed " and immediately the shouts, the shouts of joy and the shouts of the other Resistants completing another link, and another, and another, and yet another, and another, and another, and another more, and yet another and another, and another more.... No, I won’t stop to say another, because you need lots of links to connect twenty-five vertices, really a lot.
Many are the agents, the friends who gave life to this endeavor. The names are all below, as usual in alphabetical order, because the Resistance has no leaders, the Resistance makes no difference between participants to an operation. No matter if you are a keys exchanger or a destroyer or a linker or an operator. The Resistance is all of us. The Resistance will always win, because 19 field is megl che uan.
