Putting this out to the internets: Seeking housing in San Francisco for the summer (May 19-August 22.) One couple and possibly one single person looking for 1-2BR apartment near Mission Bay. Up to a 1 hour commute is okay.
Bike storage is a must, parking a plus, furnished preferred but negotiable.
Everyone is quiet, polite and professional or grad student (and well into their 30s.)
$2500 is all they can tolerate for a 1br, $4000 for a 2BR.
The person who hooks this up gets a really nice (read: State Bird Provisions or Jardiniere) dinner on me.

everything is more expensive in Cali. I could pay my 2BR rent 3 times for what he's willing to spend... and I have a 1 hour commute in Chicago to downtown.

Derek, it's nuts. On top of cost, there's lots of fraud and weirdness for out-of-town renters too. Trying to find somebody we're connected to through friends.
