So last Saturday SF Bay Area ENL agents got together and with the help of agents from Sacramento performed a threepronged attack on the 100+ RES P8 Permafarm in Oakland CA.
With a team on both Telegraph Ave and College Ave and a mobile team they took this area by turning it ENL P8 and farming it. A total of 48 agents from cities like San Francisco, San Jose, Marin, Sacramento, Oakland, and others had a ton of fun. Got to meet the person behind the avatar in the hangouts. Some even got badges. Some got swag. Friendships were even made. So much fun that even John Hanke ace let off a few bursters in passing.
This day all culminated in everyone meeting up at a local bar and good times were had. A BIG THANK YOU to agents @tpick @teenyhedgehog @CommieIBanker @Brother and many others who helped organize. Thanks to all who showed up. Can't wait to see you all again.

I helped!! That was funnzies! I love that "the boss" threw down on some XMP's! Man, those Smurfs are tough in that neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteI even jumped in on comm for some friendly proper parking suggestions to the resistance agent that kept illegally parking ;)
ReplyDeleteMike Morris Don't even start dragging that shit into things...
ReplyDeleteElse we'll have to start digging up the stories about people blocking other peoples' cars so the remainder of the caravan can farm....
Speaking of this day... so how about that megafield? New record for shortest-lived megafield, and not even a mention? Shame.
Daniel Benton it's a free Internet as far as I know and I'll say what I want. Thanks for the tears though. ;)
ReplyDeleteMike Morris you can always spot the most insecure and least valuable players by their incessant return to that meme.
ReplyDeleteIt's like they can't actually come up with anything more clever than "lolumad," regardless of whether or not there's any anger involved.
Mike Morris Smurf tears are delicious. But I'm sure they taste the same as froggie tears; both equally refreshing from time to time! ;)
ReplyDeleteDaniel Benton you can always tell the character of a player on if they are willing to trespass. Anyways. I've given too much response to a player that doesn't matter. Tata!
ReplyDeleteMike Morris Right. I forgot the prime rule of Ingress in our area: It's only wrong if the other team Resistance does it.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Benton Actually, it's wrong if anyone does it.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see you get away with sucking at your job because someone else does. Pretty sure the excuse "Well they did it" doesn't fly in any situation. Ever.
Fact of the matter is, only bad players need to blatantly cheat to win at a game. But what would you know about that? You've been a complete non-factor in the bay area for at least half a year.
Thanks for coming out though. Your forum warrior prowess is always great for a good laugh at your expense.
Dustin Harwood If it's wrong regardless of who does it... Why are your teammates still doing it?
ReplyDeleteIf your teammates set a precedent of playing with shady tactics, and have those actions defended by the entire team, don't cry when that style of play becomes the norm.
You have no one to blame but yourself.
Daniel Benton If you want to start a conversation about "which team cheats more" by all means go ahead, but provide proof to back it up.
ReplyDeleteBut if you think the answer to stopping cheating is to cheat yourself, then it's quite clear that you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.
As such, that means you actually support cheating and anything you say against it is moot. Don't get all uppity just because members of our team condemn cheating while you actively support it.
This is what I heard at one point:
ReplyDeleteRandomGreenPerson: "look at that guy, that's terrible, he's driving while ingressing, we don't allow that in our group"
Me: "Well, isn't that kind of what we're doing with our car full of people driving around playing ingress?"
RandomGreenPerson: "Well yeah, but we do it differently, it's not the same!"
Me: "Really? How so exactly?"
RandomGreenPerson: "Because our driver isn't playing while driving."
Me: "Ohh, I see, gotcha."
Now I can't confirm or deny that anyone was actually doing this, but given what I know of the community and how people general will do this regardless of the "rules" I have to assume that it was going on.
If someone would care to provide factual evidence that this did or didn't happen, then great. However, until then, let he who is without Ingress sin cast the first XMP.
Also, happy 4th y'all, how about we squash this garbage and get some BBQ? Who's with me?
Happy 4th Bryan Kroger!
ReplyDeleteHow long was it down for..?
