I'm proud to count so many members of my local Enlightened faction as friends. We have always been committed to the idea of introducing people to Ingress and, of course, follow that by encouraging them to become members of our team.

A few of our local South Bay Enlightened agents had the fantastic idea to rent a vendors booth at the recent GaymerX convention in San Francisco. The entire idea behind GaymerX is that it's a gaming convention with a focus on LGBT Geek Culture and their message of tolerance and technology is shared by us. Because #EverybodyGames  

On Dec. 14, 2013 the final battle of the #13magnus  Anomaly was held in San Francisco. My buddy Brandon Downey was there to give a rallying speech and this is something he said:

"Enlightened values are San Francisco values. San Francisco prides itself on accepting people who are different, people who are immigrants, people who are aliens, and that's who we stand for. San Francisco also stands for innovation, and technology, and the future. And if you look around the Bay area, you see the fruits of what technology, and innovation and the future have given us. And that is the same as the message of the Enlightenment. "

The same thing can be said for the people attending GaymerX and this is why it was important we show up. 

I filled in on Friday along with the indomitable Kyle Sfhandyman but the real credit goes entirely to  Donna Berthelette, Samantha Laws and Winona Tong who did all of the work and just let us come along for the ride.

We spent the entire time talking about Ingress until our throats were sore and our voices were shot. I can't begin to count all of the people we introduced to the game and who started playing right there on the spot.

We were the only people that had a vendors booth at GaymerX that weren't actually selling anything. Or, yeah, I should say we weren't selling anything for money. [Not like you can put a price on things like friendship and tolerance and innovation and technology anyway.] 

So, yup. We're out there blowing up RES portals and covering the map in massive fields of Enlightened green. But we're never not out there doing our share of reaching out for new #IngressRecruits  wherever we can.
