Operation #Tealadelphia: Fields of Brotherly Love
OBJECTIVES:
1. Contribute substantially to the global MU count in time to impact the 1 billion MU measurement for Devra Bogdanovich's portal virus.
2. Promote positive cross-faction relations in a city with very active and passionate agents on both sides.
3. Demonstrate the potential of [occasional] cooperation and collaboration between humans regardless of allegiance.
PLAN: Construct a large-scale multi-layered field over Philadelphia, USA with equal numbers of green and blue layers.
OUTCOME: Success
#SITREP:
2014.08.05 – Agents TheSquirm (ENL) and FiendlyFire (RES) begin discussions and achieve consensus on objectives. Recruitment begins, as does the search for viable anchor clusters.
2014.08.06 – Field plans Alpha and Bravo begin to take shape. Planners limit knowledge of the operation to a small cross-faction contingent to avoid organized opposition from agents opposed to Objective #1. Recruitment proceeds within both factions. Target measurement checkpoint selected.
2014.08.07 – Field plan Bravo rejected due to volatility of anchor clusters. Field plans Alpha and Charlie completed. Tactical assignments developed. Recruitment continues.
2014.08.08 (morning) – Field plan Alpha selected. Portal key acquisition and distribution commences. Selected preparatory clearing of blocking links begins.
2014.08.08 – 2014.08.09
• 1800 EDT: Prep team clears and deploys target portals in southern anchor cluster before park closes.
• 1900 EDT: Field team meets at rendezvous point [redacted] to review and refine tactical plan.
• 2100 EDT: [Checkpoint]. Field team (nine agents) splits up into two cross-faction vehicles and begins clearing blocking links. Clearing will last approx. 7 hours.
• 0200 EDT: [Checkpoint]. Clearing continues.
• 0355 EDT: Final blocking links cleared. Anchor clusters deployed. Linking begins.
• 0356 EDT: First layer created (511,525 MU for ENL).
• 0506 EDT: Twenty-third and final layer created (620,611 MU for RES). Operation transitions into protective phase, with both factions reaching out to active agents and requesting that all anchors be left intact until checkpoint.
• 0700 EDT: [Checkpoint]. After two hours with zero attacks thanks to cooperative agents in both factions, Big Teal still stands. Field team enters long-overdue and well-earned dormant cycle.
STATISTICS:
• Fields: 39
• Layers: 23
• Total MU: 13,218,687
CONCLUSION: The Tealadelphia op demonstrates that even with fewer than four days to plan, dedicated agents can achieve incredible success if they are willing to set aside faction differences and work together in a cooperative manner. It is hoped that agents around the world remember this lesson when in-game opposition and rivalry threaten to create hostility and antagonism in human interactions.

Thank you, Joe! We would have done it when you were in town, but for some reason a lot of us were super busy that day. :D
ReplyDeleteDear Enlightened,
ReplyDeleteAll your base are belong to us!!!
Yours truly,
The Resistance.

ReplyDeleteCongrats
ReplyDeleteAnd.... Win-trading.. I don't understand the Teal fields. First of all. The 750 million MU goal didn't stop the last one and the Billion MU goal won't stop this one. It's part of the story line guys. The virus will stop when the script that Niantic wrote calls for it regardless of what any agent does. #trueblue
ReplyDeleteI don't see win trading, considering the fields are simultaneous. Also, how can you call this a form of cheating when the "script" is basically asking folks to do this?
ReplyDelete#EnlightenedFTW
Mike Hollifield some might call it win trading, others might say field art ;-)
