From the pages of Felicia Hajra-Lee's award winning book, The Niantic Project, we can observe several things related to their current action during this #Helios anomaly series.
1. There was dial tone in the XM.
2. Calvin exposed this dial tone on animals using electrical pulses. (Same method ADA used on 855)
3. Niantic Project was not the first to research XM as a sensor was already built for XM mapping and Calvin expected the results.
4. Calvin wanted to test on humans.
5. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe provided the scanner app to draw agents to XM concentrations, portals.
5. The purpose was to expose Ingress agents to XM concentrations and allow Calvin to observe the effects of XM on agents.
6. Calvin and Oliver extended this study by resonating and amplifying the portals to expose civilians and dose them with vast quantities of XM using resonators and fields.
From here, we can deduce that Oliver and Calvin's goals are always about gathering data for their own interest regardless of the consequences on humanity. In fact, Oliver serves only one master, knowledge (Recovered Message from Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe) and like ADA, he too will not wait for us. This is the reason why Devra Bogdanovich escaped from the project because she disagreed with them.
So during the #Helios anomaly, we have to consider this question again. Is Oliver doing this for himself without caring for what will happen to a world massively dosed with XM? Should we not consider what Hank Johnson said about the crime of dosing people with XM?
We also need to ask the question whether these prehistoric artifacts, are they the same ones Hank and ADA were looking for, the ones that Roland Jarvis said Hank will need his and Oliver's expertise to utilize? Is Oliver trying to grab the artifacts for himself and use them against Jarvis and his enemies? If so, should we hand it over to him knowing he serves no one but himself? Will the world burn in XM with the artifacts in his possession?
