The brightest light casts the darkest shadow

How it all started

When agents @Maxlamenace and @Ramii met the 1st time during The Recursion Anomaly on 29th march 2014 in Brussels as second site…
They wanted to make a collaboration between Belgium and France for an operation.
At the beginning, we were 4 agents to organise that nice idea of collaboration (@Maxlamenace and @Nigot both from France, @Ramii and @Dzeko from Belgium)...which would be a First in Enlightened history in Belgium and France...First...but not last !
After some weeks, a main idea was born...

Safe anchors had to be chosen….
@Maxlamenace suggested the island of Ouessant as a safe anchor…
@Nigot from Montpellier suggested the Pic de Saint Loup as a safe anchor
@Ramii and @Dzeko chose anchors in Kamperland, Holland.

Now that we had our idea and our anchors...
Key farming and key tranport had to be organised
@Ramii and @Dzeko went to Kamperland to farm the keys,@Maxlamenace farmed keys of Ouessant,@Nigot, @Baaz, @Shyz and @Syahn keys of Pic Saint Loup.

Once done, transport was planned...travellers delivered the keys to each field team

All keys arrived at destination !

Let’s organise our field agents now !

Our biggest work was in France, we first had to cut the country in different zones, so we made several zones where agents were contacted and recruited...To make sur all will be coordinated and synchronised at D-day, every zone had a teamleader or/and an operateur, as they were locals, they recruited and prepared their own teams and strategies.

The Green paths:

The East link
From “Grande Croix” Pic Saint Loup (Cazevieille France) to 6 anchors in Kamperland (Netherlands): 868,68km

“The tough one”
This was really the hard part of the plan… A few days before, Paris was connected cell for Bogotta Anomaly, A big green link from Romilly-sur-Seine to Cambrai was protectig the area, and different defenses were planned. However the ghostlink from Switzerland to Baden was up all evening, and the defenses were impossible…
Moreover, the link was planned to cross the city of Gent in Belgium, and with the ghosts problem, it was very unlikely that the blockers would disappear at the right time! But our prayers as well as our sacrifice in Pic Saint Loup (see the pictures) and the amazing work of Belgian agents enabled us to have precious defenses through Gent and crossing the entire France south to north ! This link was the first one up ;).

The north link
From 6 portails in Kamperland (Netherlands) to 3 portals in Ouessant (France): 721,07km

“The connector”
This link was the connecting one between France and UK field, agents on both side were available, and even if there was only one blocker ready to go down at pointe du Cotentin, France, it was the easiest one to block accross the Manche. Resistance team didn’t wait long and threw 2 blockers from Dover, UK, but happily for us they threw it too early and we had exactly the right amount of time ahead to send 2 agents (@Motownandy aka +Andy peiris and @Dezzor aka +Dezz Pearce there to take it down! A thousand special thanks to them who saved the link and the whole operation.

The UK field
From “Creac’h Light House” (Ouessant, France) and “Roompot Kanon” (Kamperland, Netherlands) to Ailsa Craig Light House (Ailsa Craig, UK): 754.92km and 711,70km

“The one to crown them all”
After 8 layers covering France, the final field was the “special touch” of agent @maxlamenace and @laze. This field was a total surprise, only a few agents were aware of this one in France, and only a few UK agents were aware of the layers in France. We wanted to create the surprise to both sides when links went up ;). Agents from all over the UK and Ireland were mobilised to clear the link paths and to prevent blocking links.
The operation being planned for the night before a Lightning Strike in Norwich meant that an unusually large number of agents would be available in the smurf stronghold of Norfolk.

As always all the UK team went beyond the call of duty, but extra special thanks are due to @philiplittle40 for climbing a perilous cliff edge path at night. Special thanks are also due to @fruitbat for stepping in to help on intel when @bluegenes had to rush a froglet with a broken collar bone to hospital.

The west link
From “Grande Croix” Pic Saint Loup (Cazevieille France) to 3 anchors in Ouessant (France): 862.57km

“The Ghost Buster”
Early Friday agent @autrui came to Baden, France to destroy the portals that resistance have been using to send the artefact from Switzerland to Bermuda. Resistants saw him coming and Jarvised themselves the portal because of the 2*VRLA. But things cannot be that easy.
The Switzerland/France link would not go away, still crossing France East to West without breaking, and no one was able to link through it. Moreover, the agent created a green link from the Jarvised protal, blocking the link he was cleaning for.
Good new is that there is plenty of time to ADA it again and break the portal.
Bad new: He did not have any ADA left in his inventory ! With the 2xVRLA on the portal, impossible to trick the resistance into breaking it themselves that goes without saying.
We found 2 volunteers (@gummynounours & @pennylen) to take the road from Nantes with ADAs and join the agent in Baden.
A few hours later (2 hours and 20 minutes exactly) the link from Switzerland finally goes from scanners and intel ! All the defensive links we prepared were finally ready to go live! But this two hours ghost link were heavily worrying us, should we go on with this ghostproblem?
Aren’t we going to experience the same thing everywhere as reports from all around the world suggested it? Well… We are already in Ouessant, and we are already going on so…
Pray the shapers lord and stick to the plan !!

The south link
From “Grande Croix” Pic Saint Loup (Cazevieille France) to “Monumento Del Faro” (Santander Spain) : 612.4km

“The late one”
After a week of great work from agents in the area, the D-day was giving us hard time. One agent’s car broke during the cleaning, he slept in his car for the night. We had to find another agents to finish the work.
At last time, 2 fellow level 6 agents jarvised the last blue blocker,The field to Spanish coast could be done !…

The open sea link
From “Creac’h Ligh House (Ouessant, France) to “Monumento del Faro” (Santander, Spain): 562.1km

“The easy one”
Well… apart from the transatlantic links from Baden to Bermuda earlier in the evening, not much of work here…

We had all the bad luck with us for the D-Day and days before it...All showed Karma was against us…
We had the artefacts in France a few days before where smurfs started to destroy our defensive links/fields, so we had to rebuild it…
The long link that cut France in 2 from Switzerland to Baden (where we had no local agents available for that day) and then to the Bermudes.
Ghostlinks/fields that took to long time to disappear so it was crushing a little our timing...when we would destroy the lasts blockers…
They announced solar magnetic explosions that would go trough earth that weekend which would be heavy problem for 3g connections and Gps status.
There was a festival that weekend in Ouessant and we feared there would be smurfs…

Final MU Count:

Intel did not show the fields logs so we can only have general figures and not the exact count. At this scale that does not matter very much:

France: 8 layers from 18.8 to 18.9M = 150.8 MMU (283 719,90 km2 x 8 = 2 269 759,2 km2)
UK: 1 layer of 24 MMU (229 809,08 km2)
South France: 1 layer of 3 MMU (201 351,00 km2)

TOTAL: 177.88 MMU (2 701 000 km²)
2 checkpoints: 13th of September at 0100 UTC and 0600 UTC

Fields went down from Netherlands at 0640 UTC by @unit38, @schaapjeee and @Smalleweg

Special thanks to every agent involved:
