#FoundOnFieldTrip: The Home of the SF Giants
With today's World Series game, between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals being played at AT&T Park, San Franciscans all over the city are embracing their local team with pride. What some may not know is that the true birthplace of the Giants is in Troy, NY.

When Troy resigned from the National League in 1882, most of its players went to the N.Y. Gothams, renamed The Giants in 1883 (because of the "very tall Troy players") and eventually moved to San Francisco in 1958.
