Great OP but what no food images from that area is a crime!

A Bowral of Laughs - Sitrep
#ABOL   #Sitrep

 - 1 Night
 - 2 States & 1 Territory
 - 3 months gestation period from conception
 - 11 Layers
 - 29.3 Million MU
 - 30+ Agents
 - 7,000km+ of combined driving

Just as a baseline, global MU average was 224M at the time.
This op was about almost 30Mil, so it accounted for almost 13% of the global score at checkpoint.

In the hours just after our last KopAField OP (Cold Steel Rail: http://goo.gl/f6BWmj) went up on 8th Jul 2014 we were sitting around bathing in the afterglow of a successful OP when I believe it was @SirLegend siad “So what’s next? We should go bigger!”.  After this weekend’s epic drive he may regret that statement.

Over the next few days running on excitement from the last OP, very little sleep and plenty of coffee a plan was hatched to field from Broken Hill, Cape Schanck Lighthouse in the south and to somewhere in Northern NSW (Later after much deliberation we settled on Bowral).
We also in the process worked out an extra 3 layers in Tarago near the ACT which ended up having to be scrapped and replaced with 1 at Tallong due to the number of friendly rural blockers.

After much driving, meeting, talking and farming with just a healthy pinch of frolicing, all the requisite keys had made their way safely to their new owners.

With a months delay thanks to travel plans and the surprise announcement of the Helios Artifact target in Sydney (when fielding across the states seemed ill advised) we were finally on track for 8PM checkpoint 11/10/14

The long day begins

9:00am - 2 Melbourne agents head off for the 9 hour drive to Broken Hill

5:00pm - We drop some hard to reach blockers around Canberra while setting up some of our own (that could be dropped at a later point)

6:00pm - We notice an Enl (@RogerD) was traveling through the country unaware and had been farming keys for a portal just outside our Western Corridor with risk of linking back across our line, we dispatch an emergency response (Who did a sensational job)

6:30pm - We drop a few more blockers with some of our fielders still MIA (being responsible and not using their phone and driving +1 :D )

7:00pm - Oh no..@FuzzyJ is rebuilding their Gisborne farm.. right next to a blocker we’re about to jarvis.  The jarvis goes off and @Spharx proceeds to smash the farm, it looks like the jarvis went unnoticed but everyone springs into action 10 minutes earlier than planned.

7:10pm - All blockers down! This was about 10 simultaneous hits across the region. huzzah!

7:13pm - Tallong Station upgraded and modded

7:15pm - BAM! First field for 2,638,070 MU from Tallong Station goes in

7:20pm to 7:52pm - The rest of the portals in Bowral and Broken Hill get Jarvised/Smashed/Upgraded/Modded to their varying required degrees and linked without a hitch!

7:56pm - Oh no… the Enl @megabyteme is smashing portals in the carpark of Cape Schanck Lighthouse.. (A MASSIVE SHOUTOUT! to @megabyteme for being an honourable player and abiding by the closing times of the lighthouse even if he did try to sweet talk the security :P +111 for doing the right thing.  You’re a credit to your team for getting there that fast and then for walking away)

8:00pm - Checkpoint hit!! The fields are standing! Hooray! :D!!

Although the fields were taken down by the next checkpoint (E Agents @Straiza&@LenaMacLaren from Nowra made the drive to Bowral) we were extremely happy with the resulting 29,393,203 MU and perhaps even more so with the hilarious flurry of comms messages and reports of broken scanners.

And now for the thank you’s and yes… I know I still haven’t come good with those beers.. SOON~!!! :D

First and foremost.. for pulling my jumbled mess into a finely tuned machine and calling all the shots on game day!@Kaffeinated.. you seriously complete me! without you I’m sure I would have been a jibbering mess, if you weren’t taken, I’d marry you <3 (Kaff Edit: Sure, but you’d have to plan the whole wedding and then hope I do all my jobs in the last 48 hours and turn up on the day to keep the analogy :-P)

Linkers/Fielders:
@SirLegend and @D3vilspawn for being insatiable for the MU and making the 1800KM round trip from Melbourne to Broken Hill (also for refraining from any actions on their way up! All that tantalising grey going to waste! )
@KSF for farming Bowral keys, providing the local knowledge and for making the train trip to the ACT to swap keys with me
@Unearthlygreen for always being chipper and not afraid to ask questions if something wasn’t clear
@GLISSACT for helping put me in touch with the right people over the months and helping to coordinate the ACT crew and for making the drive out to Tallong (I wish we could have got you those layers in Tarago)
@Ausbookworm and @rodneykearins for farming Tarago keys even though we didn’t get to use them for meeting me at a farm in ACT and for making the drive out to Tallong

I was extremely impressed with the execution of the linking and fielding throughout the OP, well done all, not one doubt or slip up, every instruction was followed to the letter :D
(Kaff Edit: From a dispatch side this is the first time in AGES that I haven’t had to make any adjustments to the plan at the last minute.  Thanks for saving the few hairs I have left field agents!)

Special Credit to @GalaxyGrl for lighting the lighthouse portal and making the journey twice (even though they assured you it was open!) couldn’t have done it without you

Smashers/Blockers/On Call Smashers!

A massive thankyou to all of our smashers, blocker makers and people just hanging out in case of trouble, without you guys around the OP just couldn’t go ahead, you’re the unsung heroes that get no MU so here is your glory!! :D

ACT:@Vitax, @SuperLobster and @LlamaSpit
ACT Extra:@Varthrax, @Billius, @GLISSACT and crew for organising everything from the ACT end as well as (@pinkbiogeek, @vtghf) the Murrumbateman winery smurfs!
NSW:@Cowcakes, @Andrew118, @CJMINUS, @Allyaus, @kedgie
VIC:@Snowy3340, @Tg23, @Spharx, @Lionjrb, @HellFireXF, @BennoKompressor, @GenElektric, @Chayse, @SouthernPhoenix, @DaCyclops, @Bellana, @dbelco, @JaminAppleford, @EagleLukey, @Cupcakr

Even those of you who saw no action on the night other than smashing random green, you were there preventing me from having conniptions :D and I truly value your efforts

Special mention to @Polar695 who although was not originally on call, came out to clear the potential threats that had been left by the travelling Enl, not only clearing all trace but making himself a small field to boot
Also very big thankyou to @OhDang who went out of his way to smash a blocker and saved us a very long drive :D

And a HUGE thankyou to all the people that assisted with advice, planning and local contacts including but not limited to @Tekstep, @GLISSACT, @JungleRunner and the whole AIRes team

ps. Sue is the best!

I will leave you with a quote from our helpful mysterious Italian

*The Resistance is in the heart of us all.
Resonators for the throne of the Resistance! Fine*

Kaff Edit: And to @Doobmie- Your commitment to making big deep blue is incredible.  Thanks for being the dreamer, the organiser, the motivator, the planner, the schmoozer and, occasionally when required, the clown.  It’s a new cycle now #justsayin…. so get some sleep and dream up what’s next!

  1. I did some of the early intel at a Cafe before heading home, but only took a snapshot of my daughter with a hot cocolate, not the bacon.
Lesson learnt, need to go again with a focus on meat.

Berry Doobmie our next challenge is set. Planning for op #philleysfoodfield commences
