Sweet op!
Sweet op!

- Cascadia: Cascadia is a unique coastal bioregion that defines the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada, incorporating British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, parts of Idaho, southern Alaska and northern California, and in many ways is geographically, culturally, economically and environmentally distinct from surrounding regions.
What a ride! This op followed the natural lifespan of ops. It started small, as fields often do, using my transient status and the friends from across Washington I've made to float anchor possibilities. And as plans often do, they escalated, and escalated, and next thing I knew Jacob Pope, Zac Brown, and Jeff Moyer and Ali Moyer were involved and my Washington field left the boundaries of Washington state. As it was a unification of my bioregion, the only appropriate name was in honor of my heart and homeland, Cascadia.
This op wasn't without its flaws. First, there were delays when the entire northern link clearing crew ditched due to something called "Canadian Thanksgiving" (I'm pretty sure it's made up), and someone decided to hold #darsanasaltlake and we have issues saying no. Additionally somebody on the green side decided it was a good idea to try to field the world the day before our op.
Being adaptive is using the channel as a war room to block the green menace. Panic is making the decision between lane clearing, or throwing badgers to block the enemy. When green skies looked immanent we gummed up our own lanes. The high winds contributed nicely to the feeling of an impending storm. We watched other cities fall one by one, and we asked ourselves if we were to suffer the same fate. We went to bed with questions about the likelihood of our op and hoping to wake to clear skies.
Sunday morning. We woke and assessed the damage. Our fellows in Portland had suffered a green evening and were eager for payback. Our more northern crews were eager to prove that Washington skies were not a no mans land, but firmly azure. So we set out to take out our own blockers and clean out the cobwebs of the Enlightened, and scrambled to take down the green created as they returned home from their previous evenings endeavors.
The final result? We missed checkpoint by a minute with our initial field. We also threw a wrong link and could't get more than one layer, so we decided to jarvis our own BAF to throw some more layers just for fun. My question is, can any #IngressHistorian think of a time that that has ever been done before?
Final numbers 1+4 Layers, ~3.4-3.6 million mu a pop.
Special thanks to the literally billions of toads who fought with us tooth and nail the entire time, and ultimately thwarted our field by a few minutes. I hope to keep ruining each others plans!
