As you may know - All #Enlightened and #Resistance Agents were challenged to support the #Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia as part of our participation in the #Darsana Anomaly in VA Beach November 15th. And boy did they rise to that challenge!! We saw Resistance Agent YoursBluely Robby L in her beautiful flaming red hair – calling out “raffle tickets for sale” at the X-Faction picture. We were thrilled that Enlightened Agent Kippi Eileen Wood was able to spend the entire day selling raffle tickets as her first day back with Ingress from a long hospitalization and illness, and on her Birthday no less! We also owe a special shout-outs to:
• Resistance Agent Armadaos Sean Ramsey for donating winnings from the 50/50 Raffle -$195 – back to the Foodbank on behalf of an anonymous Resistance agent!
• Enlightened Agent ZellsBells Jennie Zell and Ocean Creek Apparel for creating and printing a shirt design that everyone wanted and could be priced so we made over $1100 in profit.
• Resistance Agent OneLoneWolf Thomas Sanford for creating an image for this fundraiser that incorporated the Resistance and Enlightened #Darsana logos, and for having that image blown into a banner we could all sign. (this poster will be presented to the Foodbank – pictures forthcoming)
• A huge Thank You to individual donors on both sides that went above and beyond – donating hundreds of dollars.
This was a true X-Faction activity. We combined our swag for the raffle, we sold tickets to each other’s agents and we generally had a great time doing it. A big thank you to Joe Philley and Anker for all the swag they donated. We gave away many shirts, Endgame books, pins, buttons, cards, phone chargers, USB cables, a sexy Niantic Project messenger bag and so much more! We are so proud of both factions for all the love and respect that was shown for this worthy cause!
We started this in an X-Faction Hangout with Resistance Agents Darth Rogue and OneLoneWolf and me, Enlightened Agent Vashti42 throwing around ideas on how to bring our community together. We agreed that with the holiday season approaching and many hungry families in our region, the Foodbank was the best place to support. Without knowing how big this would get, we agreed on $2000 goals for each Faction.
Things where looking up for the Resistance as they raised $390 in the 50/50 Raffle, handily beating the Enlightened total of $250. But that’s where it ends -
#Enlightened won by a landslide $4,106 to #Resistance $2,276. Enlightened also wins the food competition, one full box of food to the Resistance ½ box. Awesome work Enlightened! We rocked this thing!
The #Foodbank is the biggest winner with a total of $6382 in donations – that equals 19,313 meals provided to families in Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore!!!!!
Showing the world that #Ingress Agents, no matter their faction are the coolest people on Earth!! #Foodbank #Challenge #EnlightenedWins Brian Rose
