  1. Interesting read, but what is more interesting to me is the fact that this game was setup with one faction of "agents" working alone or cooperatively against the interests of the opposing faction of "agents", yet occasionally I see these posts about "cant we all just get along?". The answer of course, with some exceptions is likely to be "no". It seems to be in our nature, egos being what they are, that when you pit one person or group of people against another, there will be demonization of one faction by the other. Often this demonization is created simply by someone's taking the normal activity of the game (portal is blue, now it is greeen, now, blue again) and personalizing it such that they view this very normal activity as aimed against them specifically. Of course, this does happen on occasion, but mostly it is simply the game being played as intended.

Most importantly, this is how the game was designed. I think it is silly to think that there is any hope of bridging that divide, human nature being what it is. For many people, "fighting" with all their resources against "the enemy" automatically precludes social interaction with them on a friendly level. I am really surprised that this dynamic appears not to be understood by people (such as the author of this post). That is not to say that attempting to do so is completely futile, just perhaps mostly so.

    Your mileage may vary....
