So today I received my forth platinum; Trekker. This is a very proud moment for me.
For those that don't know me, I have several severe heart problems, causing me to need the assistance of a power wheel chair. When I started playing ingress Jan 27, 2013, I was just recuperating from a heart procedure. At that time my heart function was measured at 40%.
Well almost 2 years have passed. During that time I have hiked trails, climbed small mountain cliffs, and walked countless hours/kilometres all trying to get to that next portal.
Just last week I had my annual heart checkup. As of now my heart function is 50%. My doctor says to keep up whatever I'm doing (walking 1196 kms in two years).
So when someone asks which badge means the most to me, my answer; My new platinum, Trekker.
Ingress has most literally saved my life.
