OP : #BucketList #BucketList2015
Mission : To create 100 Level8 portals in 100 cities in 100 countries ( 1 city per country atleast )
City / Country : Kolkata, India
SitRep – #BucketList2015 - #XMforAll
17th JAN , 2015, The Date was set. The mission : To bathe this realm in emerald light, To bestow upon the world the power of enlightenment lighting up the luminant beacons and paint the canvas of the globe green.
Thus was the vision of the #BucketList2015 to create a myriad of l8 portals all over the ingress world. 100 portals were to be lit up in every region that would leave their mark on this Planet for the times to come. This is the saga of one such remote regions of the world. This is the saga of the first Indian city to step forward and embrace the mission. This is the legend of the city of enlightenment : KOLKATA
As the sun spread it’s first rays over the horizons, The Chosen warriors of light awoke to the task with a burning passion in their heart to spread this shine throughout the city, the flashes of which would blind all resisting forces. Tasked with creating 100 portals in a city which suffers due to a dearth of them, where the selections of the best path is limited due to the fact that it barely has around 200 of them, unlike other cities that house thousands of portals with easier access. Adding to the fact that there are exactly 8 level 8 Enlightened agents and the only portal heavy zone is a buffer zone, increasing the difficulty to an already compounded list of hurdles to be faced. But ENL-Kolkata only know the meaning of moving forward. And How!
Plans were made , and remade. Drafts gone over and again. For we had lack of resources and there was lots of ground to be covered, the need for optimization was high. And top of that, when the OP was announced, we were still short of one l8 agent, but two warriors were yet in the making. Agent @anku90 and @veektor28 took upon themselves to cross the final obstacle , to clear the final access level required by their team to accomplish the goal. Having exactly 8 L8 agents to create 100 L8 portals is a very tough ask in the first place but we were upto the challenge and so we did complete it.
Enter the day of the OP. The team , split into the Eagle Squad and Hawk Squad, took positions at their respective starting points at 10 AM. True, the objective was not to create fields or clear links, but swift action and agility were paramount, as the longer it took for completion, the incremental the risk of portals being destroyed by the resisting forces, and the ground to be covered was humongous, as also later noted by on the trekker badge. With that in mind, and a checklist of portals in hand, the journey to enlightenment was embarked again. Agents moved along their checkpoints, enjoying the cool breeze of winter sun, taking delight in company of fellow agents and having lots of fun thanks to the game. Both teams converged at the Victoria Memorial halfway through their routes to team and have lunch and a good time. The OP had become a great heart warming hangout on a lazy Saturday afternoon, filled with fun and enjoyment . Oh and the first l8 portal came live at this time during the gathering
When all was said and done, the teams split up again, each now to complete the portal upgrades of the other , all the time wary of the need to defend the portals from any resistance, which never showed up, yet.
By 9 pm, we were done. Exhausted to the core, we had accomplished the OP and showed to the world what the Kolkata Enl are capable of.
