OP SHONIN AF07R12 - CC
21/02/2015
Era uma bela 3ª feira de Carnaval. O telemóvel faz “ting”! “Uhmm... mensagem no Hangout”, pensei.

It was a nice Carnival Tuesday. The phone rang! “Hum… Hangout message…” I thought. Amazed me, I found not only Portugal was on Connected Cells but also my own cell, AF07-ROMEO-12! :D
Immediate reaction, it’s time to pull “the Operation” from the hat and put it to work.
I contacted the cell coordinator and the following day a nervous me joined him making plans at lunch. It was my first time organizing an operation that size. But I was told “cool down my friend, you just have to call the right people and everything will start happening”. And that was it. Agents started talking to each other and when I realized, from North to South Portugal, Azores and Spain, everybody was united around one goal. With all ingredients to bake well. It was a crazy rest of the week: key exchange, blocker cleaning, defensive links in between and meanwhile work, family and all the rest. :D
Saturday. SHONIN DAY. All aboard, cleaning teams, blocker watch, sentinel, links, decoy, operators and, more important, Low Level teams.
High noon and war starts within the cell. Attack and cleaning teams commence execution, fighting for Delta. Meanwhile Decoy and Fields begin their work. The operation was made by phases and in the end would have an Iberian dimension, if it wasn’t for some last minute setbacks. Prepared with several backup plans, it was only less than one hour before the mark that a final plan was defined. Everything ready to start and… just less than 20 minutes away… Intel team shouts “blocker”! All froze! “What now? Do we have anyone there?” Suddenly a rookie resistant shouts “leave it with me!” Full throttle and there he went. A pure Level 6 Resistant sorts it out. Meanwhile elsewhere, intelligence teams find the opponents and split to understand their steps and sort out their plans. Reaction follows defenses ready. The rookie agent reaches the blocker and just after going down, the path to victory opens up, 6 minutes before 16:00 GMT. Four fields with a total of 9.4 MU up at 15:59. But that’s not all, once the anomaly was won, work began for the cell checkpoint. At 16:18 there were 11 fields up with a total of 23.7 MU and a new struggle emerged. Resisting 42 minutes, with agents all over the country recharging the anchor portal in Azores, while local Resistance agents, “the kids”, not intimidated by ENL agents on site, defend the portal as they learned from their mentors, up to 1 minute before checkpoint ENL agents deployed a virus.
All Resistance deserve greetings for their dedication, commitment and above all team spirit, we were all equal and had only one goal. Final result: WE WON!!!
Special thanks to “the kids” and low level agents that shown it’s not age and level that matters in an Operation.
