New Caledonia fielded from the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Norfolk Island
(suggested op name: padloxed (by mawmon ™ pending))
Agent urbanhick was in the Solomon Islands a few weeks ago and threw a couple of links either side of New Caledonia (NC) while he was there. Unfortunately, there was no-one in Fiji, or able to go there soon after, to take advantage of this opportunity. Those links were subsequently taken down at Honiara by Resistance agent terbios, who, a few days later created a field between Port Vila, northern NC and Honiara. This field being taken down from Port Vila by Enlightened agent Tralcor. Creating a Solomons Island - Fiji - Norfolk Island field has been discussed several times since by urbanhick and agent monika.
Sunday morning, urbanhick contacted monika to advise he was on his way to Honiara again, to arrive in Honiara at 2:00pm Monday (monika and I having advised previously that we would be in Fiji at this time). A quick check around the South Pacific to make sure that there were no other plans afoot, a message to TKOF in NC to see if he could be available to remove any new blocking links that may come up, and we had a green light. Not having been out for unique captures since our arrival, we decided to stay off the radar for the next 36 hours (we didn’t want to panic the NC Res :-)).
Monday afternoon saw us at the Fairway Palms portal at 4:00pm. And an hour early. I had assumed urbanhick had given us the time in whatever time zone Honiara sits in and calculated accordingly. After nearly 30 minutes, we decided he had given us the time in AEST, so we went and found something to eat. This was confirmed soon after when we received a message from urbanhick that he was on his way.
A quick confirmation to and fro that we were all in position via Hangouts, and it was down to business. Our portal was unclaimed; urbanhick’s only needed to be flipped back to green as it had simply been ADA’d previously. We deployed. I had a quick look at Intel and saw that urbanhick had linked to Norfolk Island. Back to the scanner and a couple of seconds later we saw an incoming link. A moment of panic (isn’t there always one?), as monika’s scanner denied that any links were possible! All keys bar the Norfolk Island one have been capsuled! Try again! There it is! Confirm!
The end result: 383535MU and first place in PA08-MIKE-11 for monika.
