SitRep: Operation Bloodmoon

Friday, April 10th brought clear skies to Indiana offering a peek at the remnants of the 3rd so-called 'Bloodmoon' that occurred earlier in the week from the 2014-2015 Lunar Eclipse Tetrad.  While it wasn't the full Bloodmoon, our trio set out to create a multi-layer field while also observing some remarkable astrophenomena.  #OpBloodmoon kicked off at 11:20PM in a single vehicle, heading north to get a 76.75km base link established between Delphi, Indiana and Sweetser, Indiana.  From there, we turned east to do a touch of cleanup and began a 17-layer fielding run around 2:55 AM.  The final field was a whopping 1,414,512 MU split between AM02-JULIET-09 and AM02-JULIET-10, covering a total area equivalent to just over 1/3 of the area of the state of Indiana.  At the 7AM checkpoint 1,316,513 MU stood for scoring purposes.  As with our previous operations, layer statistics follow and a GIF buildout of the layers may be found attached to this post:

Raindog55, Kaslina, and I had a fantastic evening out Ingressing and pulling off this 1M+ mission with just our little group in a single car -- Thank you! Also, a Hat Tip to suy and elixirnninja for their words of encouragement from afar as we finished the buildout on the approach to the 7AM checkpoint!

To the rest of the community, if you missed out on Bloodmoon, the final lunar eclipse of this tetrad will occur on September 28th, 2015.  We'll see you then...if not before.
