三月中, 在 G+ 見到馬來西亞綠營舉辦捐血日, 隨即向不同組別人士宣揚此活動, 得到各方面表示支持, 回饋社會, 為善最樂, 最後香港綠營市場企劃部決定在 4月18日 舉辦首屆“香港綠營捐血日”, 招募無償捐血者.
在籌備過程中, 也遇到問題, 其中一項是地點問題, 因全港捐血站有9個之多, 選擇那一個最適合 ? 與紅會公關部溝通後, 建議我們去觀塘 APM 捐血站, 地鐵上蓋, 環境幽雅向維港, 地方較為闊落, 適合團體捐血活動. 最後與紅會正式申請當日活動.
資深玩家@NewtypeNT1傾談中提及到 Ingress 其實已經開始了 #MissionsForGood 慈善活動理念, 個人對此有意義的活動非常認同及支持, 並列為 ENL MKT 其中一項任務，不久將來會舉辦更多公益回饋社會活動。
講到任務，不會離開 Ingress #Mission 吧，拿到 Mission 章之外，還有一個紀念價值，立刻邀請@joeyiu設計一個捐血日 Mission 章給參加者做任務。在籌備至宣傳工作，前後不用兩星期，已有不少綠營朋友查詢及報名。
四月初，與資深玩家@starangel閒談中建議送襟章給參加者作為紀念，如果個別有證書就更好。最後由 MKT 負責人之一@EvilcaT設計及親手造了一個愛心匙扣，只有出席者才能擁有，再加上親筆簽名的證書，以示感謝大家支持。
當天 4月18日, 三點前已有綠營朋友到場準備捐血了, 而捐血站也比平日多捐血人士等候捐血, 我們隨即開始捐血程序, 以流水作業形式, 跟紅會的指示安排 ( 填妥捐血表格, 測試血色素, 護士接見, 量血壓, 正式捐血啦 ), 捐血後稍作休息及享用中心提供的飲品和食物....大家在等候及休息期間, 已約定晚飯後 “起田放火” 節目, 開開心心交流之外, 其實手指一路有 hack portals, link fields, 還有deploy war. 真係好享受 ingress 的樂趣。
我們一行廿幾人, 有支持打氣朋友, 有恆常捐血者, 也有首次捐血者, 而成功捐血有12位, 我們總共可救到48位受血病人, 感謝大家的無私捐獻......當天又學到新野, 原來 “生飛滋” 係不能捐血, 真的嗎? 係呀, 有位朋友在護士查詢健康狀況時, 因口腔 “生飛滋” 而建議康復後再來捐血. **健康查詢第六項列明了 http://www5.ha.org.hk/rcbts/UPFILE/BookFile/2014228171631842.pdf 吾緊要, 好返再去捐過, 有份勇氣+善心已經很好了, 大家支持你.

We learned that Enlightened Malaysia organized a blood drive in Mid-March, so we also spread the idea around in Hong Kong. It was well received, so we Enlightened Hong Kong Marketing Department decided to organize the first "Enlightened Hong Kong Blood Donation Day" on April 18th and started recruiting donors.
ReplyDeleteWhile organizing we encountered some problems. Which out of the 9 donor centres should we pick? After discussing with HK Red Cross Public Relations, we were suggested to donate at Kwun Tong APM Donor Centre. With its convenient location, spacious setting and a view of the famous Victoria Harbour, it is best suited for a group donation. We have then applied to HK Red Cross to organize the Blood Drive on that day.
@NewtypeNT1 mentioned that Ingress has already started a #MissionsForGood initiative. I personally think it's very meaningful and is worth our support so we MKT listed this as part of our missions - please look forward to more charity-related activities! (Speaking of missions, don't forget Ingress Missions! Apart from working towards a SpecOps achievement, we had @joeyiu design a monumental Mission badge for our Blood Drive Mission.)
Many ENL agents have inquired about the Blood Drive and applied to join during the two weeks when we organize and promote this Operation. In early April @Starangel suggested actually giving attendees a real badge or even a certificate of attendance.@EvilcaT took up the challenge and designed and created a real badge only for attendees and a personally-signed cert to thank all those who attended.
Even before 3pm on April 18th, some ENL agents have already arrived at the venue. With more-than-usual amount of donors at the Donor Centre, we started the Blood Drive right away, following the staff's instructions (form-filling, testing blood haemoglobin, Health Consultation, taking our blood pressure, and the actual blood donation process). One by one we have given blood and then we rested and enjoyed snacks and drinks provided to replenish ourselves. Throughout the process we were also finalizing plans for our post-dinner farm-n-raid Operation, while our fingers were also busy hacking, linking and deploying... It's an Ingress Operation afterall!
We had about 20 of us: supporters, regular donors and first time donors - 12 of us have successfully given blood, potentially helping 48 recipients. Thank you all for coming!
One small fact we learned that day: you can't give blood if you have oral ulcers. Really. One of us was suggested by the nurse during the Health Consultation not to give blood this time. It's alright - come again when you've recovered! We still thank you for your courage and charity!
