42 hours Shonin Shard #15 on Palma de Mallorca
The night of sunday the 08.03. i received an emergency call from France while i was just operating a team of 3 agents to cover Palma de Mallorca.
(3 agents, 3 fields 210.000+ Mind Units, 3 Gold Illuminator, 3 Level Ups, Sitrep: http://goo.gl/WFY1l2)
Agent @slm2mars asked me if Mallorca could take a shard 7am the next morning. „Shard to Mallorca? Great, of course!! “. But the only available key was for a lonely portal in Banyalbufar that was l5 without a l8 reso. In a normal night impossible to make it L7 in time. Resistance Mallorca is a only small team and it was already in the middle of the night. Nobody in the trusted HO was available so my only hope were the 3 field agents in their adrenaline rush.
All three Layers went up but they were all in party mode and did not check the group HO. France was waiting on my confirmation to rent a taxi boat in time. So I pinged everybody in private to catch their attention and finally all were back in the HO. To make it short: I still can not believe they drove another 2 hours! Thanks again agents @Yoruichi80, @MuabDib76 and @walker7 for make all possible!
Now the fun started!
Mallorca was ready to receive #15 but there was no exit plan! So instead going to bed i spend the night planning how to pass it on as fast and safe as possible. The best plan was to move it to a portal in Esporles for that agents in Morocco had a key to extract #15 at 7am the next morning.
During the morning we formed teams to protect and move the shard every 6 hours. For the first jump at 1pm agents @rayden1987 and @peke1986 went to immunize the portal. Agent @aguilazul and me joined for the jump so i could get at least two hours sleep. No ENL arrived so we just moved #15 to a portal a few meters near and enjoyed the perfect summer day till the next jump in Banyalbufar. One hour to the next jump RES agents @MrsFloppy and @MrFloppy1404 joined us to protect it but again no ENL appeared.
10 Minutes to the jump i was suddenly asked if we can move #15 to the destination portal in Esporles for 7pm instead of 1am to extract it to Morocco 6 hours earlier. I checked IITC for blockers and Google Maps for the time we need to reach the portal. 15 Minutes to drive there and 1 blue blocker on our way: "Yes, on our way!"
I quickly split the team and drove with two agents to Esporles We jarvised the block on our way and arrived 2 minutes to jump time at the portal! Link was established and #15 jumped into position to be picked up from Morocco
And then the real fun started!
Our desired route could NOT be cleaned in time because local agents simply refused to help! So a new plan had to be made...
Agent @InodeGeek found a team of real RES agents in Madrid that drove Cartagena the next night to clean that area. But that meant we had to move #15 around on Mallorca to have it on the same portal again 24 hours later.
So at 1am agents @Chuwatox, @MrFloppy1404 and @MrsFloppy only moved it to a nearby portal in Esporles where i had a key to pull it to Peguera the next morning.
In the morning at 6am agents @CptPescanova and @aguilazul drove to Esporles to immunize and protect the portal while i went to Peguera, after i had only 2 hours of sleep again. In Peguera @MrFloppy had already put his l8 reso on a 150+ days guardian of a tourist so i was able to make it l7 alone and pull #15 from Esporles to Peguera at 7am.
For the jump at 1pm i was sitting with agent @rayden1987 in a bar in range of the shard enjoying the perfect day and wondering why no ENL show up. Again we only mini moved it to the next portal.
At 7pm agents @vane8, @Yoruichi80, @MrFloppy1404 and @javii77 went to Peguera and @walker7 to Santa Ponsa. The planned link to Esporles was made in time but #15 did not jump because of the 24h rule! We knew this could happen but because Niantic rules are never 100% clear and sometimes even do not attend at all we just tried it.
And again 6 hours more fun!
Agents @walker7 @Yoruichi80 @CtpPescanova and @Tiura went to immunize, protect and link at 1am so i could stay home again to rest a little bit and take care of the situation in front of the Intel map. Again no ENL appeared so this time #15 successfully jumped to our desired destination portal in Esporles.
At that time the only available agent for 7am in the morning expect me was @aguilazul so we would not be able to rebuild the portal to l7 in the case frogs destroy it after immunization. I did not like it but we had no other choice so all went to bed.
Expect me. I breaking my head about other options and in the end i decided to be in Esporles two hours before the jump to have the portal immunized over jump-time. I could have woke up @aguilazul and tell the new plan but as she had to work the whole day i decided to drive from Palma to Esporles and back two times instead. With the new plan i could have slept only 1 hour so I decided to make a strong coffee instead.
Palma to Esporles takes 25 Minutes according to Google Maps. So at 4:20 i drove from Palma to Esporles, jarvised at 5:01. Then i drove back to Palma to pick up @aguilazul and go immediately back to Esporles to ada at 6:02.
Till 7am we were guarding #15 but the only agent that appeared was RES agent @perkins to support us. The cleaning in Cartagena was successful too so the shard was finally pulled off Mallorca to Morocco by agent @vicopatate.
The Rest is History! #15 was joined with #23 and was the first stone that reached the RES target portal in Washington!!
It was hard, super exiting, great fun and my sleep rythm is still broken but it was all totally worth it! Days like this make Ingress so awesome for me. This is real Ingress!!
