Virgini Guyot, First Female Leader of Patrouille de France
After serving as a fighter pilot in Chad and Afghanistan, Commander (Major) Virginie Guyot became the first female pilot to fly with the French Aerobatic Demonstration Team. In November 2009, she became the first, and so far the only, woman to lead a prestigious aerobatic team. There are fifteen female fighter pilots out of the total of approximately 500 fighter pilots in the French Air Force. The Patrouille de France has nine Alpha Jet planes. The Alpha Jets are the standard trainers used by the French Air Force.
