1500 points was on the line
Thursday, june 18th...Time is ticking, finally get to santa barbara and we pull out of harbor at 12:45am, it is 35 miles if you go straight there. There wasn't any wind so all we had to deal with was the swells and fog. thick fog. the visibility was 30 feet! So we navigated by gps the whole way. To put that in perspective, because we were under the gun to get to the shards before 5 am. Imagine a bag over your head, and you are running with someone telling you left and right. It was intense to say the least. Butterflies the whole time. Not to mention, we couldn't go "straight" there or we would crash into the north end of sci. And I have never been to sri before so I had to trust my readings of the nav maps (Also good advice from fellow captain #Bukaka)
Nearly the whole way, dolphins swam along side of us. It would startle you because they would jump out of the water and they must have been 10-15 feet away.
We made it, hustled up to the portal...then bgan problems. must have been the thick fog again. finally after 30 mins we were online flipped the portal and booted them to unalaska to die at approx 4:45am. we had keys spread out from the deadlist baf https://plus.google.com/+markdobson/posts/TwRE7FwqbhC but decided there wasn't enough time to move to our target so #rivetgeek killed the portal (much to the dismay of the enlightened agent that flew in to flip and steal)
thanks to the intel operators and the agents crazy enough to go along
