It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over
cy·cle - kill·er
/ˈsīk(ə)l/ - /ˈkilər/
noun
- previously a field (giga, mega, big ass, or other variety) thrown by a faction that destroyed all chances of a comeback for the opposing faction
- As of Cycle 2015.27, no longer able to be defined in AM02-KILO-00

Resistance Operation 3C is to be respected. Like any multistate/international field, you can't help but acknowledge the teamwork and amazing effort required from so many to accomplish such a feat. So there. It's been acknowledged. Congratulations. Moving on (jealous)...

As we celebrated TheMedellia hitting 16, we got covered. Not just covered, nearly all of our cell was slammed 14 times by Etherael's dreamy mega field (wrong color). CP 15 came and went leaving ENL behind 15MIL+. There was no ENL symbol spotlighted onto the night sky. No one hit any panic button. Everyone showed up and the planning began. Business as usual, with a little challenge thrown in for kicks!
Allow me to back track - RES going up even 10 MIL in the past would have been considered a cycle killer. It's happened plenty of times. "Welp, on to the next cycle. No beating that one." That is no longer the case with CINENL. A new attitude has been established along with a feeling that we can accomplish just about anything we want without much "resistance" (see what I did there?).
As we moved forward and set the plan, we had a few objectives:
1. Win the damn cycle
2. Win the damn cycle
3. Mitigate the multistate/international RES cover
4. Redefine "Cycle Killer"
5. Remind the resistance that we can sleep when we're dead
6. Win the damn cycle
The Lightning Operation
Storms were pounding the midwest. We moved forward. Keys were farmed. Targets were strategically dropped throughout the day to lessen the load for our 1 AM CP. Keys were moved among agents, including a blind drop due to schedules on an exit ramp where a capsule was on the ground for four minutes (I could kill you two; you know who you are). 2 hours later we were all in place. All targets dropped except for Southern lanes. Baseline thrown. Waiting on blockers to clear. Once again, we used Softbank Ultra Link Amps so we could throw from base and not worry about a throw order or screwing up the throws (all other keys in capsules, no way to mess this up). We were able to get 13 of our planned 20 layers up. The storms had taken out our operator and we were flying blind with vet agents calling out hits over phones and doing mobile intel. We missed a blocker. John Lewis (Psyberdragon) was en route with a Jarvis Virus ready to rock, but missed CP due to the storms slowing down his driving. We were still down, but we had brought it within striking distance. CP 25 was great, but not as good as 29 was about to be.
Lightning Op: Part Deux
I wake up to the phone. Our community was buzzing. We had enough keys to pull this mission off PLENTY more times, so we were going to shelve it and try something else to win this cycle, but that beautiful baseline remained. ALL day it stayed and stayed. Were we being baited? What in the hell is going on? WHY AREN'T THEY TAKING DOWN THIS 215 KM BASELINE THAT IS SETTING US UP ONCE MORE? Everyone is chiming in.
"Hey, uhh... Guys, do you see our baseline is still up? Should we, uhh..."
You're damn right we should. And we WILL.
Keys were moved (No blind shit drops this time, at least not that I am aware of. Not sure anyone will ever tell me again to keep me from having panic attacks). The baseline remained, and remained, and stayed, and stayed - Why the hell haven't they taken it down? 9 PM CP came and went. We covered Cincinnati 11 more times and took the lead. No looking back! Thanks for the baseline! Y'all are great sports!
CINENL, with help from a couple agents from neighboring cells, was able to cover our beloved city 24 times in 20 hours for measurement purposes. We did what we had set out to do. It didn't matter if RES found a way to cover the cell 100 times the following day. Win or lose, we had every reason to be full of pride. Our team pulled together. We elevated our game. We accomplished what was previously thought to be impossible. All of the smack that was talked after Operation C3 no longer mattered. The deficit had been flipped. We took the cycle. THe narrative would be forever changed for us. It would never be remembered in our area as "the cycle RES threw that BEAST that connected Canada, Chicago and Charlotte" -- It will live FOREVER as the cycle CINENL came back from being more than 15 Million down and WON. C3 will be never be forgotten, but for one cell in south western Ohio, it just wasn't enough.

With a single RES agent making it his mission to kill "guardian" portals on day 149 in and around AM02-KILO-00, we thought we'd replace them with Onyx Illuminators.
