In Smartphone World, end of July was a time to annouce flagship killers.
In Ingress world, time to Annouce and present to you ILLUME 2.0
aka Blue Blinking
aka BlueMoon vs Greenday
Or how to make a Flagship field killer operation: Big amount of black medals, big amount of fields/Mu with a low amount of anchors and low distance to drive.
In end of April, Illu-me was a success ! https://goo.gl/0efC3v
Since that day, i moved a lot and a lot of Ingress Stuff happened :
- Persepolis : Anomalies in Bratislava (#frenchteam) & Utrecht (#pinguinteam), Shard #39 in south of France.
- BlueVeil https://goo.gl/3rgf0R and Dissolution https://goo.gl/58qHqr
Without noticing it, it was already 2 months gone when i was back in Krakow and so many players with a need for Black Illuminator in that city. Among them, a special one for me, Joanna Kania .
She was green when we made Illu-me and kind of sad not to be able to be really part of it.
So,, for the black medal she wished to have, for my sweet love, i had to manage it. At least platinium, black if possible.
But, an operation has to be a team effort and fair for everbody.
so, Black for one = black for all.
Back in Krakow 28th of June, working on a draw, searching/finding convenient anchors for several layers. Helped by local players who knows well the whole area : Marcin Kotowicz Sigismund Dijkstra Amadeusz C
We quickly had a plan : Pińczów/Limanowa/Wygiełzów
16 Portals (could be more but was enough for this time) / 14 layers
Then, schedule went kind of far because we needed a date with needed availability. So we set it on 31/07 23:40.
Lot of time to prepare operation actually so i could go slowly on that.
The legend says that a blue krakow player said "hey, 31/07 will be blue moon. would be fun to do something". So we did ...
And honnestly, i never thought about BlueMoon as a reason to make it this day. It was just convenient for everybody and Joanna's work schedule.
14 layers estimated at 550kMu each ... not enough for a black medal except if we repeat it, again and again .. and if blue fields are appearing, and Krakow blinking in blue thanks to Jarvis.
Hmmm wait a minut ... what ? FS Krakow #3 ? damned, so we can't let alive those fields. Otherwises FS is dead.
OK, we will destroy everything after the operation.
DDay is here :
Meeting, explonations, driving, cleaning, lot of linking, lot of fields, several hours of action without any opposition !
Fist link at 23:39
At the end, operation was, as expected, a success.
16 Anchors, 14 layers
110 layers counted over Krakow , 73MMu created , 665kMu/layer
15 Black Illuminator, 2 Platinium
Operation over, we all thought it was weird to see no green player coming to destroy our job. After all, it was only 45min for them to reach south or west
FInally, we discovered why at 04:00.
We were lucky to finish our operation so late, because a few of us were still with open eyes to notice the ALAAARM in our logs
All known krakow players are making actions a little bit everywhere around the city.
They have a plan in their mind. The only remaining players awake did all what they could to avoid those fields to appear before CP. Because let's be honnest, exhausted and tired, we wouldnt have stand for a long time.
And they didnt !
The plan was kind of easy to read : Miechów/Limanowa/Wadowice
@Naathim&@0x421 on intel,@Amade90 @diijkstra and i on the road, we put the blockers we could , as fast as possible.
Few hesitations and lack of speed, for 1min30sec we failed to block it more.
At the end, that operation i like to call Greenday had to be mentioned here : 8 layers, 10 portals, 580k Mu/layer.
I will let green players name themselves all their agents involved
They didnt succeed to make it for CP and it survived 35min (diijkstra and i destroying it all). Which is a victory for us
But it was the conclusion of an epic night : Lot of fields, lot of fun, lot of pleasure driving with sunset in South Poland Landscapes
So thanks to green players also ;)
It was 07:30, we were finally close from a meeting with Morpheus (god of dreams), diijkstra was staying alive and awake by hunting uniques "One.. More... Uniq...". I had a plan (that one failed) to write the sitrep as soon as arrived and then prepare a romantic breakfast for my girlfriend. I miserably felt asleep for 1,5 hour.
At 11:00 was the start of FS in Krakow, organised by Radosław Pawełczyk and Błażej Irlik , where we arrived with a huge lack of sleep.
Friday eveing was great, Friday night was awesome, Saturday was pure pleasure
This is Ingress !!
