Operation: That shall not be named

It was obvious that this was an op that the forces of evil obviously wanted to stop.

Agents found trouble right from the start.  When agents woke up in the morning, one wound up trapped at home by a tree that had fallen across their driveway. The forces of evil revealed themselves when one of our operators lost power at his home. Reports suggested that power would not return until after the 7pm check we were targeting. We debated whether or not to cancel due to the brewing storm, and we discussed if agents would want to hold for the midnight check. We decided to go ahead and try for the 7pm check.

When agents arrived on site. they found the Gryffindor anchors closed for camping due to inclement weather, so the agents there couldn't stay the night as originally planned.  The Hufflepuff anchor team faced an entire town without power, Internet, or normal cell coverage.  And bears.  At the anchor. We again considered giving up layers, but as we were discussing our options, finally our luck seemed to turn. We found local agents who were able to help and the bear decided to leave our anchors -- probably because it was afraid of @lotr0n and @thetriangulator.

We began to throw, and everything looked up. We got 6 Layers up for check, each totalling over 2 million mu. We brought up 2 more after check. All in all, we threw 8 layers for just over 16 million mu.

And then the waiting game began. We knew with the bad weather that the travel time to each anchor would be significantly increased, so we thought it wouldn’t stand for a second check. But as the hours ticked by, it seemed more and more likely that it would stand! At 11:49, just 11 minutes before the second check,@kellenb alongside @FinneganJax killed the outside 2 layers, but failed to hit the 6 inner layers until well after the second checkpoint.

Thanks to everyone who helped us on this operation, directly or indirectly! This was my biggest field to date, and was a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun.

  1. And bears... Not an issue we usually have to contend with in UK ops, I'm impressed, well done guys, nice fields (through gritted teeth said as a Res agent) 😃

  2. Are you quite sure it wasn't a crowdfunded Resistance bear?
