Back in early July Jason Zherron contacted me with an idea. He wanted to get his team in the Marion Indiana area illuminator badges. Being kind of in the middle of Fort Wayne and Indianapolis communities they get called on a lot to help clear for other people's fields so I wholeheartedly agreed and began to plan.
I created a hangout with the state leadership and we began to collaborate on the planned anchors, lanes, and dates. It happened to work out that everybody was free the weekend of Gencon in Indy, so we chose the 2 Aug 2015 because of the planned mission day scheduled for the 1st.
Jason was able to recruit +Becky Mills to farm keys for our southwest anchor and we were able to recruit [redacted] for the Louisville anchor farming.
Day of the OP: faced with 5 lanes due to the unique design of the field the Intel team had their hands full keeping the boots on the ground updated on portals that needed to go down to clear the way. Joe Philley along with many others cleared all green and blue links for the 4 long legs. Due to engagements that couldn't be avoided the south clearing team was cut down to 3 agents at the last minute, one agent [redacted] was in Indy for mission day and drove for 8hrs clearing links all along the lane. Finally we contacted the Louisville resistance for last minute backup. Agents epicgeek and unathi dropped what they were doing and came across the river to help make this field happen.
All told we were able to produce 2 black and 6 platinum Illuminator badges, capturing almost 19,000,000MU with 10 layers. Not to mention the field over Fort Wayne that was put up as a blocker for us captured almost 1,000,000MU.
All in all I could not be more proud of the team that stuck with this, and made this happen. We were going for a checkpoint and missed it, but we did not give up, that is what defines us. We never give up, no matter how much adversity is thrown in our face.
